I don't think he ever thought that. In fact, I heard it took Arnel a few years to believe that he actuallly had the gig as "permanent" front man. I think he was saying that if they were no longer happy with him they always had the option to fire him, but if they were going to keep him then they should stop the verbal attacks. He was telling them to either fire him or shut up, from what I gather.

Most importantly he's been loyal to Neal, which is close friendship. Means more than any material aspects. How many true loyal till the wheels fall off friends does a person have, or meet. Most are aquantences, schon chose him to be front runner, became much more than front man, he became schons close friend. Materials come n go, friends don't. Once there gone, there gone.

Most of the money to be made in the music industry is through writing and publishing songs, so 15 million is quite good considering that Arnel did not write the classic songs that he performs with Journey.
