Hey Emily! I’m just getting started studying for the admin cert. How do you feel the market’s looking at the moment? Love your videos, great resources!

Hi Emily, I love your channel! Depending on your industry, pursuing JavaScript Developer I (JD1) before Platform Developer II (PD2) may be beneficial. Industries requiring extensive custom interfaces not met by Flows demand proficiency in LWC, Aura, and Visualforce. On the Salesforce platform, developers must know both front-end and back-end tools to meet business needs, as there are no strict front-end or back-end roles. PD1 provides a foundational understanding of Salesforce development, ideal for Admin cum Developer roles. Many Salesforce Administrator positions now require skills in LWC, Aura, Visualforce, and Apex, as businesses prefer versatile professionals. Hiring a single full-stack developer saves more money than hiring separate front-end and back-end developers. PD2 focuses on optimizing and refining solutions learned in PD1. Thus, pursuing PD1, then JD1, and finally PD2, prepares you to be a well-rounded full-stack developer faster than the PD1--->PD2-->JD1 path.

Hi @salesforceEmily, can I ask how did your home page reports look so different? Like the Close Deals , Plan My Accounts, Build Pipeline? How did you configure that? Thanks

Hey this is how the org came straight out of the box as a dev org. I would recommend creating a dev org and seeing what their settings are to copy it.

I find it hard to be motivated unless the income potential is worth it. With that being said, what do you make a month in your role, after tax? Can’t find a clear answer online and it’s hard for me to get into something without knowing what real people are earning. Thank you!
@salesforceemily14 күн бұрын
Really, really depends on where you live, your role, your tax withholdings etc. However I can say that my first full time salesforce job in 2019 was for 70k a year. Which for us at that time was about 4k/month. At the time was living in Seattle which is very HCOL and was supporting my husband through his masters but it was enough to get us through. I would expect to see a new admin making 75k - 80k in similar circumstances.

How did you get your home page to have that layout ?
@salesforceemily19 күн бұрын
This was the layout from a newly created dev org. If you want to make your org look like that I would create a new org and try to replicate the settings

Yah thanks for the video but just wanted to understand that when we do grouping on rows that will be a summary report as here u grouped on stage , but u also said it's a matrix report which I didn't understand, can u pls clarify this?? Appreciate ur efforts
@salesforceemily19 күн бұрын
Hey sorry for the confusion! A matrix report is when it is grouped by rows or columns (ie grouped by stage or type). A summary report is when it is not grouped, but you are summarizing a column (ie calculating total opportunity amount or total number of cases).

@salesforceemily26 күн бұрын
You’re welcome! Some roles in Salesforce are. Typically admins do not code. That’s usually left for the Salesforce developers. You may be asked to test out some code through different scenarios but that would be testing for issues and errors from the users standpoint. But I will say that being an admin and learning those skills have helped me understand code better
