3:12 They didn't reference Manny or Manchester (had to double check lyrics myself) they referenced Mainz, a city in Germany, for the German part of the song. Edit: I looked to see if you reacted to any of the songs will the background OG's. You haven't yet. Check out Winderframe Cypher Ft The Snooker Team. All those old boys have are legends.

semi-related question but do you ever hear a song and think "this sounds like a track 3" or "this sounds like it'd come second to last in an album"? I commonly have these thoughts just off the sound alone

100000%!! I say this all the time. It's one of my MOST common critiques when I do album reactions. I actually end up rearranging the tracklists myself and never listen to it in the original order. What are some albums that you've felt this way about?
@9klue
@9klue 3 күн бұрын
@@KRXOVRmedia there aren’t specific albums I feel this way about, but growing up (like from 13-18) I used to make these album-style playlists that’d be 10-12 tracks and feature songs from multiple artists, across multiple genres, but there would still be some sense of cohesion in the vibes of each track, but of course lyrically they wouldn’t always make sense. that would matter more if its from a single artist. the playlists would be a kind of emotional trip using different artists to paint the picture, and have a clear (clear to me at least) progression and intro/outro I did make a “my perfect giggs album” playlist once but these were lost when I switched music platforms. I like concise but impactful albums, for example Hoodies All Summer by Kano or if we’re talking non-rap, SITHOL by Yves Tumor (one of my fav albums ever even tho i dislike track 3) or Chelsea Wolfe’s latest album She Reaches Out To She. and Bashy’s new album is around 10 songs and was great from what I remember (i do need a relisten) but I think 10-12 tracks is the perfect album length as it leaves not too much space to go wrong if you’re a good artist, but more than enough space to go right and be creative. anyway sorry for the long response which may not have been an answer to your original question

No need to apologize. I ask questions to encourage conversation. I definitely understand what you're saying. My whole spotify is legit full of this. I plan on making as many videos as I realistically about them. I have a whole series of playlists for introducing people to UK rappers, but I arrange the songs to flow like albums. I also agree that sometimes less can be more. My experience with those "shorter" albums tends to be more favorable, too.

1:43:13 Hardest hitting bar on this track for me. Talking about how he went from seeing his mum counting pennies to seeing LA. What Dave does so well and what separates him from the rest is how he bridges it together with "They both feel like things I weren't supposed to see". His mum would not want him to see that she was struggling, and he feels like the cards were stacked against him to prevent him from living this lavish lifestyle. Since they both mention LA in the same sentiment, I would go as far as to say this is a callback to My 19th Birthday where he says "Honestly I didn't think I'd see LA" Goated reaction! Much love

@@KRXOVRmedia I moved to east Ldn in 2016 when I turned 14 when he started poppin. Niggas was listening to drill and shit but I've always just hated the sound, most of my playist was old skl like Nas 50 MF doom and Wu -Tang, I'd heard Dem Boy Paigon before tho but never gave it much thought. The school I went to for some reason had a whole heap of man that uses to live in Custom House so they fucked with Kojo, and being from an west African background but not being around too many of them before this I was gobsmacked at the sound of afro swing because I grew listening to highlife in the household and afro swing felt to highlife like what r&b was to soul if that makes sense, like a modernised version. So that led me to Hus, and that also got me to listening to his freestyles and 15th day which impressed me even more because he had so much range in tone, I've always called him the UK 50 cent because of that. I also love that this nigga will say the stupidest outlandish nonsense definitely appeals to my old school sensibilities. Like all that juju shit, even the people that fucked with him around weren't feeling that too tough but that right up my ally, one because I fuck with traditional African spirituality and two it's just comedy gold, bro calls himself Juju J for fuck sakes to his audience of primarily black people no less(and we know how our people feel about juju/voodoo/obeah) Anyways I know this is a long as response to your question but Jhus for me is genuinely one of the greatest artists of all time especially out the UK, and hope he gets even more experimental and crazier with it.
