A hand saw. It cut easily. We measured and cut the excess off.

Could you please help me. Is your window able to lock with the hose installed? Reviewers have complained it stopped working after a while, is yours still working like you bought it?
@ThisHomeschoolingAdventure10 күн бұрын
There are windows similar to ours that can be locked while open. Ours do not have that feature. We bought two of these units, and both are still operating in separate rooms of our home.

I heard that fat Friday is good for you!!! We try to follow a 90/10 rule where we eat healthier foods 90% of the time!!! I eat thin crust pizza as it doesn’t affect me as much!!! We all eat different fruits and I don’t care as my kids eat fruit!!! I’ve found spreads confusing when buying it so I have mental lists of wat is healthy and wat isn’t!!! I’ve found egg noodles don’t affect me!!! We keep sauces in a cabinet!!! My teenagers love pocky!!!

I'm going to try the egg noodles tonight and avoid all other triggers for the rest of the day.

Hi! Thanks for this overview! I'm really curious and interested in the Chemistry 101 curriculum and found this video helpful. Will you have the review video up soon? I see you've posted the Physics 101 overview, so I'm hoping to see your Chemistry 101 review! Thank you!!
@ThisHomeschoolingAdventureАй бұрын
We are currently finishing this class. I can't give an exact date when that video will be available as we will be taking a short break between our spring and summer semesters, but yes, we will be reviewing this class.
@Kim-pq1rxАй бұрын
This looks like a great option for physics, thank you for sharing! Could you please explain how you use this for AP Physics (1, 2, or C)? Do you have your student take the AP exam?
@ThisHomeschoolingAdventureАй бұрын
Absolutely! So, the base curriculum is just watching the videos. You can absorb so much just from watching these videos every day. For my AP students, I have them watch the videos and complete the full accreditation program. There are supplemental suggestions under the accreditation program for reading that coincide with the videos, additional reading assignments, research papers, hands-on labs, in-field work, and tests. For example, my dyslexic student just watched a video for Chemistry 101 that talked about the atomic [you know what]. She just watches the videos. If I feel like I need to, I give her the test out loud, and she responds with the answers. My AP student also completed a 200-word research paper on Project Manhattan to coincide with the lesson, which also required additional research and review of a field trip we completed in Oak Ridge where Project Manhattan took place.

We take 2 - 3 weeks off at Christmas as we celebrate Hanukkah as well!!! We don’t set any day aside for labs!!! I feel like nutrition is needed!!! I feel like vocabulary words are best caught and we add most of our vocabulary in science!!! I tell my kids to write however many words but they need to put on the required information!!! We model a lot of this but I feel like I need to remind my kids why they should choose healthier choices!!! We discuss healthier sugars like honey!!! I not long told my kids of the late 90s fear of no oil now for electricity and I think the food fear could be the same way!!! We discuss empty calories vs calories wiv nutrition!!!
@ThisHomeschoolingAdventureАй бұрын
Yes to all of this! And it's just great reminders to our kids why their health is so important. Thank you for your positive comments! I look forward to them every video.

I plan quickly before we need to use the curriculum!!! I have kids who hate notebooks but they have to have a digital file for certain subjects!!! We have to do labs in certain places as travelling with chemicals isn’t possible!!! My kids ask me for me to email them the pdfs as soon as possible!!!

I bet if you split the difference on the timings with the pressure cooker timing, I bet the pressure cooker chicken will be more like the oven. I think the oven mostly just cooks it more. In principle the oven browns it more, but it's unlikely to be a big effect unless you run the oven quite hot and dry the chicken very, very thoroughly.

Do you know about the controversy surrounding the Blindside?
@ThisHomeschoolingAdventureАй бұрын
Yes, I know. My children know as well. We have personal views about how we teach when people make selfish choices. We also want our kids to see that, even though they later made selfish choices, we especially want our adopted teen to see how you can change with the right help.

I get the bitter sweet thing!!! I understand that fear!!! We are German and we have family members in Germany who can’t homeschool due to the German law!!! I agree that a A is expected with a 1:1 ratio!!! I don’t mind if it’s redone!!! I can only imagine is based on the mercy me’s singers story!!! I never thought of Walt Disney biography!!! My older kids went to pearl harbour and they found it hard!!! I’m glad they went tho!!! I was working but my stepdad took them that day!!! I never thought of doing a biology of C.S Lewis!!! We did it the Hillsdale college C.S Lewis course for British literature!!!

We're secular but I still agree that most health classes just don't address the things I wanted my kiddo to learn. He ran through a basic one at his online school but I added a bunch of stuff to his for mental well being, hygiene, interpersonal communication in relationships etc. For personal finance we did a hodgepodge of stuff to make it a whole year long credit.
@ThisHomeschoolingAdventure2 ай бұрын
We shared an unboxing of what we're using for personal finance last week. I agree, I feel most health curriculums neglect to cover the important aspects of personal health.

My kiddo is doing this class for 10th grade English starting later this summer. He has dysgraphia so typing is always going to work better. And while he isn't dyslexic, he has a hard time with composition. But he can tell me about the book, the movie, etc. so we do oral book reports and things like that. Thats why I'm hoping adapting this to discussion, public speaking/debate, and short answer will help strengthen his writing without overwhelming him.
