Any news about this razor? Is it fixed yet? I really want to try a half blade safety razor, As I live in india there are only two options for me 1(Parker solo edge) which is expensive and another one is Pearl(which is perfect in my budget) ..Yes there is also Leaf razor but its like the Ferrari or razor🫡 in term of price.. Eagerly waiting for Pearl to fix so that I can try a single blade razor

Apparently they have fixed and the first batches are being shipped to retailers... I saw one store publishing new version. I'll get one hopefully soon

Interesting idea with the recycled metal… it would be interesting if they did a DE blade with a mechanism you could rehone like a straight razor!

That was quite common in the past, people created DE sharpener. I guess it does not make sense anymore because they are so cheap

hi man. thank you for the video so informative i am suprised you don't like the green astras. it might be a factor if as you mentiond they aren't as sharp as others but to my skin are gentler you brought my attention to Gillette Nacets I haven't used for a bit and I have them. i will try to play with them soon so you absolute favourites are on the far right how much do they cost at your place? I haven't seen any of the ones on the far right and wonder if they don't come to the side of the world where I am

Can you remove the blade to clean it, dry it off, and reinsert it ? Cleaning blades and drying them off, makes for a longer lasting blade.

Good review, but you shaved so little that it was hard to notice anything. You should shave your whole beard for us to get a good view of the razors in action.

So true. For me I like to try many blades and find my top 3 or 4 and then I bounce around with these 4 but then I buy a new razor and try all again. I like the verity. I don’t like feather. To sharp. Leave my skin so dry and irritated.

I've used a shim in my 61' Fat Boy for quite a while. I find that it clamps the blade a lot more efficiently which makes the razor much more comfortable and effective. With the shim, it clamps the full width of the blade which seems to stop it from chattering. It was Dad's and passed down to me and I had it sent to Razor Emporium for a tune up and rhodium finish. Exceptional job from Mat and his group. Been using a shim in it since I got it back and I find that I can use any blade and it works well. Whole different razor. Much more enjoyable. Great video. First time that I've seen someone do a comparison between a shimmed and non shimmed razor. Great work!

Dad was a trained barber from the old country so he taught me how to straight razor shave when I was young so I always look for the most efficient exposer with any razor and adjust my method to head towards a BBS 2 pass shave without any irritation or cuts. What others find aggressive, I find it efficient. Mild razors take too many passes or blade buffing to get the job done. If I shave every day with a SR I can BBS in one pass and that's what I look for in a DE also. Keep up the great videos! look forward to your next one. Shave on: guy

Have a stash of 3 different brands, Feather, Derby & Voshkod I rotate through. The Voshkod's for me are an everyday blade for both face & a full head shave, Derby's are similar but, depending on what Razor I'm using they're off/on for a headshave. Feather's I find are by far the sharpest but I usually nick my face using them & they're a 'No Go' for shaving my head.

... The irony that for 99.99999% of users, they would get an infinitely better shaving experience and end result with a multiple blade cartridge razor than they would with literally any of these products... I understand that it's a fun kind of hobby or whatever but unless you've had a lot of practice with one of the style of razors and you really do a lot of prep work to your skin ahead of time you're gonna have an awful experience with a lot of irritation and probably not a very good shave without a bunch of nicks and cuts.... If you're not smart enough to figure out how to get cartridge razors from Walmart for like a dollar for a pack, I really don't know what to tell you🤣

@@thebrazilianshaver .... in my entire life as a man I have never heard of one person ever with a straight face complain about the quality of the shave that a five bladed Gillette super glide cartridge razor provides them... if you can't get a baby butt butter, smooth shave with a razor like that then I highly doubt that you're going to be technically proficient and skilled enough to do so with a straight razor or a double blade and safety razor.... if you're not skilled enough or pay attention to detail enough to get a smooth, clean shave with a high-end cartridge razor I would very very very very much not recommend that you try something with a much steeper learning curve and a much thinner margin for error

Had no issues with it and can see it being used as a daily driver for that shave daily. I did find it hard to shave with when having a few days growth though.

Did you encounter problem with the blade sliding back in while shaving? There are few videos of reviewers saying they have the problem. I bought one as well but didn't get it yet! Please let us know.

Servus! No I did not have that problem as people reported. At least while shaving. There is nothing on the back to stop the razor, so when I took something and puched the plade using some force it did slide back, but not while I was shaving. That is definitely an opportunity for Pearl to improve. If yours is problematic, get in touch with them I am sure they will help you. Danke fürs Zuschauen!
