I’ve used copper coat for decades now and have never had a head gasket come back. Is it because of the copper coat or because I do the job correctly? Either way, copper coat doesn’t cost much so I’ll continue to use it.

I build high power 15L semi engines, between 600-900hp, and we copper coat the hell out of our head gaskets, even with fresh machine work, its the only way to keep a cat 3406E or cummins 855 from leaking after a year of running, the customer and us dont ever want to see oil on the side of a $70k engine

I’m at 150k with my 16’ maxima. Hasn’t given me any issues ever apart from having the alternator and compressor go bad, one time each. Other than that it’s just been the general maintenance. It's recommended by manufacturers to fill coolant this way. Pulling a vacuum is an easy and fast way to ensure there are no air pockets.
@katuchilife59434 ай бұрын
@@LeinadiusTheHero idk man I've always pulled the top radiator hose and filled it till it over flows. Then I flip the line to fill the block, re attach the hose and then fill from radiator cap and pull vacuum to get any air. Then heat cycle the engine, let cool and refill pull vac one more time and then seal it up
