it's still doable if you go for diplomatic victory, unless you prefer to conquer the world, but i am a pacifist so diplomacy or culture is my preferable winning condition

Thank you for this tutorial series! It has taken me 30 years to truly appreciate Castlevania, and now I'm hooked! These videos helped me clean up some of my beginner mistakes, and also learn "why" things happen. Though, I'm still unsure how many hits with subweapons are necessary to spawn a multiplier. Time to experiment and get my muscle-memory set! Thanks again! 🧛🏻♂

When I'm playing and try to explore with my starting warrior I'm barbarians all ways appear too early before I even have a slinger and I have to stop exploring to go fight them. There by the time I'm ready to settle another city the AI already took the surrounding space .

Thanks for the pointers, mate! I'm currently learning the game, along wrh Contra, which I just beat today. Speedrunning for PBs is my goal, so I won't be going competitive. Nailing the pixel-perfect jumps and whips, such as the Bat Crit, is still an issue for me. Need all the tips I can get!

man, this trick is hard, how consistent it is? I do all the motions but I always get a bat when stopping time first time, just before the jump on the platform where the holy water is, and sometimes there is no bat but when Im walking I get hit by some invisible enemy :(, maybe Im doing something wrong, any advice?

Is emulator faster than hardware? I cannot get 8 whips in like in the vid. Always one less and have to jump whip last one.

No it should be the same! You might experience a tiny bit of input lag on emulator, but that shouldn't stop you from getting all 8 hits. Be sure to get a whip attack in as you activate the stopwatch. If you're still struggling, feel free to DM me and I can help!

Great vid! whenever I try to kill the bat at the end of the level I am always one hit away. Am I not mashing fast enough? (I am playing on keyboard so its hard to mash) or am I even supposed to mash? also any tips on getting the boss it come at u right away, sometimes he wait there for a second

Hey Ethan, happy to help. To get the bat to come at you, be sure to manipulate his pattern by moving constantly until fall off the ledge and continue to move forward until you get to the boss area. Once in the boss area, step up to the 3rd step and wait for him to descend, then go the rest of the way up. Regarding mashing, I don't think you should mash. Perfect whip rhythm will be 22 frames between button presses. That's a little under 3 presses per second, so it's definitely more about getting clean timing than mashing out as many attacks as you can (like with a game like Contra). Hope this helps!
