Had one come into the sharpening shop a couple of days ago. Looks like it was found, whilst metal detecting. If this is what they plan to do with it, sending it to me for sharpening should have been the final step.

That was very well done! They definitely made tools better back then. I do not think many tools today could stand the test of time like this.

Personally I like a Fisher-Norris, but the long horn on this Trenton looks like it could be useful in making candelabras or other short but deep bends. Nice job breathing new life into it. Now go smash it with a hammer 🔨

Brilliant, can you do this to golden oak cabinets or does it only work on plain not previously stained oak. Tks

Make sure when you are using cold bluing soultion that you soak it for 12 hours in oil to give it rust protection.

New to the channel. But you laid everything out and made everything known. I’ve seen a few videos. But never anything about the black tea. Subscribed. Thank you sir.

Does anyone think it makes sense to oil the top? Mine is outside all the time and I sometimes wonder if it makes sense to oil it. I appreciate any advice

Why would you put a hole in a mason jar? The whole point of the design is to let pressure escape all you have to do is not tighten the lid all the way.

It's COHOES, not Ohio. Cohoes is a town in upstate New York. That may be a NOS blade, the poll appears unblemished. Good find! You need to remove the pitting on the flat side to get the best edge. Now you need to learn how to use it. Thanks!

I just made the mix and it didn't darken right away at all. I think because it is alcohol vinegar. This destilated vinegar that you use is hard to find here in Europe. will it work with this alcohol vinegar? ...we wil see in a week!

if you were using this on a chair how would you recommend sealing the stain in? do you need to worry about transfer of iron onto white clothing and would it help prolong the life of the color?
