Sorry for your loss, a beautiful hommage. Intense feeling in this, with passion like a barren spanish landscape or something. Beautiful the way the piece evolves and flows out of the basic motif.

Interesting picture, feels more existential than the others in a way, which are more abstract, evocing abstract feelings. This seem more personal, with a bit of a Munch feel almost, in my mind I can see a figure being embraced or engulfed by another in the picture, wether comforting or suffocating I don' know, though, perhaps overwhelming passion. I like your pictures. Are all the picture developments of the same work in different stages? It seem a bit different the one in the middle, with the colours. Also nice musical piece, very wellmade, with soft haunting pianochords in the opening, and the grand rising movement in the orchestra afterwards, through the strange progression of harmonies, powerful surging feeling in that.

Evocative, like some magical scene in nature with nature spirits or something, I like the glissando violin part with the harp going wild like the wind in the trees. A well rounded piece, with a development, like a minisymphonic poem.

How do you remove the attack on the guitar? What kinds of effects do you use for that?
@basicsforbaroqueimprovisation
@basicsforbaroqueimprovisation 2 күн бұрын
Thank you for giving a listen ! That cello / organ sound is something I've been working on for a long time and involves a special pedal by Electro Harmonix called Attack / Decay. The pedal is supposed to sound like tape being played backwards ( which it can do ) but I immediately heard the possibility of modifying the front end of the attack and getting that smooth organ-like or cello-like sound. If you own an Attack Decay Pedal : Taking a look at my current settings : I always have it in Poly mode. Sens at 10 o'clock, H Vol off, Tone at 10 o'clock, Harmonix off, Blend full clockwise, Attack at 9 o'clock, Decay full clockwise. Explore and see what you come up with ! There's also a pedal compressor and a long reverb from the Boss Katana MKII amp. I also use very light strings for separation and expressiveness. ( Ernie Ball Zippy Slinkys .007 - .036 on the Stratocasters and Ernie Ball Extra Slinky .008 - .038 on the Les Pauls, Sire H7, Astroluxe Cadet ) This signal chain makes playing very enjoyable and soothing as I'm not very fond of pick attack and sounding like a guitar in general. I always wish I was an orchestra. Wishing you the best in your musical journey. Let me know if you have further questions or requests for topics, etcetera.- John

Ah the perfect type of music for video games. The goal of video game is to make soundscapes, and environmental music is to add atmosphere that you can listen to for 1000 hours with out muting. Lets take Skyrim for example. Great music, but 400 hours of game play, I turn it off. Any music played on loop can get annoying. Except if its music that you feel, but not listen to while playing. A good example of this is Elden Ring, and Zelda: Breath of the Wild. So if you ever do get the chance to frelance on video game music keep in mind of when you need the player to feel like a bad ass (but with difrent scores) or just let them feel the mood of the environment. As composer you probably figure it out more than me just spiting out my charisma roll. Cause its just my opinion and gripe on video game music.

So I am revisiting this Harmonic Mechanism and have to say how you use the term Displacement of a note is way cool and on it's own your arrangement sounds good. After thinking about this for a minute...more like an hour...I've reduced this Mechanism too get any 6th sounds on either of the 2 sets of strings I'm either playing a first inversion major 3rd or a first inversion minor 3rd. The coolest thing is I can Displace any 3rd all day long too any note I wish too. Can't wait to practice what I'm thinking...but I believe I'm on the right track. 🙂
