Thats awesome! :-) I still got my betta fish leo. Hes a lil over a yr in a half now.

Just as long as it's frequent water changes, or 50% water changes with the tank clean every few weeks, he should be happy. the males make the bubble nests. although leo doesn't make them very often, but when he does, it's fairly big in a couple spots. usually means their content and happy.

Awww... don't feel bad, I'm pretty sure he may feel content, although he'll probably love the big tank/bowl. There's all kinds of betta vids, and some people have some of their bettas in some crazy lil bottles/bowls. lol Some with filters and w/o. I bought my betta tank from petsmart, that came with an led light. fairly small, but my betta is content and happy. he loves going in and out of the top and bottom of his balinese lantern/cave. didn't cost that much, but he loves it.

Beau is a veil-tailed Betta-fish and he's all blue. Dang I feel really bad for keeping him in a small bowl so I think tomorrow I'm going to change his bowl to this bigger 1 gallon bowl which will be temporary until I get the tank 83.

I thought about actually getting a snail or dwarf frog, but wasn't sure how leo would react to it. like the lion, (leo) king of his jungle, well, I guess you could say my betta fish is the king of his tank. lol He's funny to watch. good luck with your betta. :) i had another betta, but he passed away. had him right before leo. his name was franklin. he wouldn't eat unfortunately. :( i know some bettas are raised on bloodworms.

I've only had my fish for a few days. Around Christmastime I'm thinking of getting a larger tank for my Betta (around ten gallons) and some tank-mates for him like some dwarf frogs and other little fish (I have done my research and maybe some Shrimp and Snails). I'll try to upload some videos when I get a larger tank!

My betta is a half moon. I got him from petsmart. I've had him for a lil over 9 months now. When I got him, he was fairly active in his lil cup, swimming around. For some reason, I had a gut feeling that he was the one. lol He swim dances, responds to his name, and when I clap sometimes he shakes his lil fins. He also comes up close to watch me. He would swim out of his cave, to see me, when i would come over to say hi. they say bettas can see ya as a friend, besides just a person who feeds them

I wish I could tell ya how i did it. Basically I just called his name, and he swam to me. If you don't mind me asking, how old is your fish? They say sometimes they can recognize their owner's faces. If you try calling his name a few times, maybe he'll swim over to you? They say each betta fish has a personality. Some may dance, some may not. some may just stay near bottom of tank, and swim very little until it's time to eat.

How did you teach him that? I so want to teach my Betta (Beau) that! It looks awesome!
