I love this app! Use it every time I shop. Just scan the QR code and it gives you an analysis of what's in that food and shows alternatives for better choices. Thanks for sharing this great resource.

Fair to say that when you take this and it Leads to IBS, I would argue that the human body will adapt to what ever we put in it. Therefore ibs could be easily misunderstood as a form of cleansing not a disease.

They are one of my favorite as well. I only consistently eat blueberries, bananas, and apples, because I make a smoothie everyday using those three. Now I started adding pineapple in there. I do squeeze a lemon in a glass and mix it with water before my smoothie. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!!

Your thoughts on digestive enzymes
@Health4Healing3 ай бұрын
Digestive enzymes are crucial for breaking down the food we eat into smaller molecules that our bodies can absorb and utilize for energy, growth, and repair. They're primarily produced by the pancreas and small intestine, although other organs like the salivary glands also contribute. Here are some key points about digestive enzymes and their importance: Types of Enzymes: There are several types of digestive enzymes, each targeting specific components of food: Proteases: Break down proteins into amino acids. Lipases: Break down fats into fatty acids and glycerol. Amylases: Break down carbohydrates into simple sugars like glucose. Nucleases: Break down nucleic acids into nucleotides. Natural Production: Our bodies naturally produce digestive enzymes, but factors like age, diet, stress, and certain medical conditions can affect their production and efficiency. Supplementation: In some cases, people may benefit from digestive enzyme supplements. These can be especially helpful for individuals with conditions that affect enzyme production or digestion, such as pancreatic insufficiency or celiac disease. Improving Digestion: Digestive enzyme supplements are sometimes taken to alleviate digestive issues like bloating, gas, and indigestion. They can aid in the breakdown of food, potentially reducing discomfort. Dietary Sources: While supplements are available, many foods naturally contain enzymes. Raw fruits and vegetables, for example, are rich in enzymes that can aid in digestion. Fermented foods like yogurt and sauerkraut also contain beneficial enzymes. Potential Risks: While generally considered safe, taking digestive enzyme supplements may have some risks, particularly if overused or if the individual has certain medical conditions. It's always best to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement regimen. Enzyme Deficiencies: Some individuals may have enzyme deficiencies, such as lactase deficiency (which leads to lactose intolerance) or alpha-galactosidase deficiency (which can cause difficulty digesting certain carbohydrates). In such cases, enzyme supplementation or dietary modifications may be necessary. Overall, digestive enzymes play a vital role in the digestive process, ensuring that we can effectively extract nutrients from our food. While our bodies typically produce these enzymes naturally, supplements can sometimes offer additional support, particularly for those with specific digestive issues.

Which digestive enzymes do you recommend? And should we consume ginger fresh or supplement? Thanks
@Health4Healing2 ай бұрын
@@fredacharbel7510 Digestive enzymes can be very helpful for people who have difficulty digesting certain foods or who have digestive disorders. The most commonly recommended digestive enzymes include: Amylase: Helps break down carbohydrates into simple sugars. Beneficial for people with starch and sugar digestion issues. Protease: Aids in breaking down proteins into amino acids. Useful for those who have trouble digesting proteins. Lipase: Assists in the digestion of fats into fatty acids and glycerol. Important for individuals with fat digestion problems. Lactase: Breaks down lactose, the sugar found in dairy products. Essential for people with lactose intolerance. Cellulase: Helps break down cellulose, a type of fiber found in plant cell walls. Beneficial for individuals with high-fiber diets or those who have difficulty digesting plant matter. Bromelain: Derived from pineapples, it helps digest proteins. It also has anti-inflammatory properties. Papain: Sourced from papaya, it also aids in protein digestion and has anti-inflammatory benefits. Alpha-Galactosidase: Breaks down complex carbohydrates in beans, legumes, and cruciferous vegetables, helping to reduce gas and bloating. Recommendations Based on Specific Needs: General Digestive Support: A broad-spectrum enzyme supplement containing a mix of amylase, protease, and lipase. Lactose Intolerance: Lactase supplements. Gas and Bloating from Beans and Vegetables: Alpha-galactosidase. Protein Digestion: Bromelain and papain. Brands and Products: NOW Foods Super Enzymes: Contains a broad range of enzymes including amylase, protease, and lipase. Lactaid: Specifically for lactose intolerance. Beano: Contains alpha-galactosidase for reducing gas from beans and vegetables. Enzymedica Digest Gold: A comprehensive enzyme supplement with a wide range of enzymes. Before starting any new supplement, it's always best to consult with a healthcare professional, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking other medications. The choice between fresh ginger and ginger supplements depends on your needs, preferences, and specific health goals. Both forms have their own advantages: Fresh Ginger: Advantages: Natural Form: Fresh ginger is in its natural state, without any processing or additives. Versatile Use: It can be used in cooking, teas, smoothies, and more. Bioavailability: Fresh ginger contains active compounds like gingerol and shogaol in their most bioavailable forms. Flavor and Aroma: Fresh ginger provides a strong, distinctive flavor and aroma that can enhance the taste of dishes and beverages. Best For: Culinary uses, such as adding to dishes, making ginger tea, or adding to smoothies. Situations where you prefer a natural, unprocessed form of ginger. Ginger Supplements: Advantages: Convenience: Supplements are easy to take, especially if you don't like the taste of ginger or don't have the time to prepare it. Consistent Dosage: Supplements provide a standardized amount of ginger, making it easier to control your intake. Targeted Formulations: Some supplements combine ginger with other beneficial ingredients to target specific health concerns, such as digestive health or inflammation. Best For: When you need a consistent, measured dose of ginger. When you have specific health goals, like reducing nausea, inflammation, or motion sickness, and want a more concentrated form. If you find it difficult to consume fresh ginger regularly. Health Benefits of Ginger: Anti-inflammatory: Both fresh ginger and supplements can help reduce inflammation. Digestive Health: Both forms can aid digestion and help alleviate nausea. Antioxidant Properties: Both fresh ginger and supplements offer antioxidant benefits. Recommendations: Fresh Ginger: Use it in cooking, teas, or smoothies if you enjoy the taste and want to integrate it into your diet naturally. Ginger Supplements: Consider these for convenience, consistent dosage, or specific health concerns that require a higher or more controlled intake of ginger. In conclusion, if you prefer natural, whole foods and enjoy the taste of ginger, fresh ginger is an excellent choice. However, if you need a convenient and consistent way to consume ginger, or if you have specific health issues that require higher doses, ginger supplements may be more appropriate. Always consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new supplement regimen.

All plants have all 20 amino acids, but quinoa has them in about the same ratio as beef. Eat a variety of whole plant foods and you won't have to worry about it.
