Back in 1990, this game had me feeling like it was the first time someone did a real good job of bringing an anime mecha game experience. It was like experiencing the cinema scenes in Ninja Gaiden on the NES for the first time.

Ok, 3 things 1 very nices for playing phantasy star 4 vercal theme, yes i know i spelles it wrong, phantasy star 1-4 is very personal to me, 2. There is an old rpg for pc that isnt popular at all, well, 2 actully, ishar and lords of magic and 3, sword of vamillion scared my soul out of me, mk3 style when i was 8 when my save file was damaged lol

I know, I just recently got (and hacked) an SNES classic for Christmas, and Target Earth was the first (with a bullet) Genesis game I thought of adding and added (hadn't played it since 90!). I don't think any of the gaming mags of the day gave it much praise or attention, for some dumb reason...and most of the other kids I knew had never even heard of it. I never owned a Genesis, but I almost considered buying this game just so I could play it at my buddies houses lol.

this review is done pretty well, but, the guy "joe" needs so speak up when the soundtrack and special effect drone him out, i can barely hear him, during those parts speak up dude

Ok quick heads up here, something a great many people don't point out is that part of the difficulty of the game lies in explosion damage. Anytime something explodes and your too close you will take a surprising chunk of damage

Jrpg's. RPG's are a lot different. Baulder's Gate, Ultima, Bard's Take, Morrowind, those are RPG's. The games in this video are JRPG's. Ugh. So hard to find a video on actual RPG's at all....

tsk tsk. didn't get the jet pack by lv 4, didn't get the shield until after the game is over? I expect better from some using the invincible cheat. also you need to mash the buttons to get more power ups after each stage. it's not just score dependant

I beat this game as a kid many times, but I had to use the invincibility cheat.... Couldn't get past stage 4 without it haha. One of my all time favorite games though. Story is perfect, music is perfect, animated scenes are very cinematic.

One of my favorite early Genesis titles. I remember play this, Revenge of Shinobi, and Madden Football every day the Summer of 1990. This game was incredible since I already had a passion for Macross. Did this game have load outs before we started calling them load outs?

I remember this game ... hard as balls, and no continues back then. When I beat it, I felt like I'd passed the bar exam (well, didn't know what the bar was back then).
