This has been a great playlist, thanks! I do have one suggestion, mix your colour into the resin before adding catalyst. It gives you more time to adjust the colour, and also makes it easier to see when the catalyst is mixed in.

You might not even need to cut the too long ones even if you don't mind making them shorter/knotty just keep twisting until the wire starts to bunch up and fold back on itself....

Can the heat gun melt the pipe cleaners, so you don't need to use fire.

You can use a heat gun instead yeah. It’s not as good. It still works. *worlds latest reply*

Why can you not use hot wire cutters on this type of foam? Chemical reactions?
@EncounterTerrain
@EncounterTerrain 2 жыл бұрын
It’s because it’s fire rated housing insulation. It doesn’t melt. You can take a blowtorch to it and it just goes black. You can super glue it, spray paint it, resin straight onto it. It’s the most resistant foam there is.

@@sudsinabucket5888 - Be careful what type of Superglue you use with it - ZAP glue works well but it does get very hot whilst curing and will generate smoke / fumes which are best avoided unless you're doing it outdoors.

@@markstevens5442 I use Elmer's generally for the stuff I do. I will need to find something stronger for other projects I'm sure though.

Oh also check out the bearers under the Styrofoam based soft insulation products such as Jablite's Jabflor or Claymaster, theyre free and have a lovely almost marbled texture, no idea if theyre much use to you and they would most likely have to be cut with a heated blade/wire but hey, candles are cheap right? also Mitrefast will eat it, but, small dowl with expanders of a twisting lock joint (no idea the real term hah, thinking like a key turned in a lock side ways) or the like could hold the pieces together. you have given me a lot of ideas man!
