Hi John. Nothing new planned. KZfaq kind of killed my channel so it's just not worth going to these lengths to make these videos of no one is ever going to see them. I don't want to quit but KZfaq is sort of forcing it on me.

Have you tried putting mail on the palm of a gauntlet yet? I've seen it on extant historical gauntlets but I have not yet figured out how to do that without making the entire thing tremendously bulky, especially at the fingerseams.
@DavidGuyton3 күн бұрын
I did do some experimenting with covering the palm with plates when I did my Iron Man and Infinity Gauntlets. I successfully did it on the Iron Man one, but it leaves you with absolutely no ability to feel what you are holding. I imagine the same would generally be true for doing maille on the palm. And beyond that, I can't imagine how it would be attached without making it a bulky mess, as you said.

I post this video which demonstrates the stopping power of carbon alone. I then say to myself that if the design starts first with a good layer of carbon, would that allow the warheads to flare better from the start and reduce their penetrating power? Tell me what you think kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sK96aZOrsamoj2w.htmlsi=mwhrqXkGb346w8kF Ps: For my part, I also work with grade two and five titanium with different thicknesses.

Curious, was that ballistic shoulder armor from a few years ago ever made it to public sales?
@DavidGuytonАй бұрын
Too expensive to mass produce. I tried to get funding through a few places but they all shut it down as "firearms related", even though it's literally protection from firearms. It's a stupid world we live in.

Did this mask ever make it to Tim Pool?
@DavidGuyton2 ай бұрын
I was in contact with his people but they said they couldn't take it "for safety reasons"....whatever that means. I offered to drop it off with literally anyone they sent, in a public place, but they still said no.
@Tonkarai2 ай бұрын
@DavidGuyton Wow that is a bit disappointing. That mask is an absolute work of art and you did a phenomenal job! I guess I understand why they don't really want to accept gifts though, especially with all the swatting and bomb threats they have received over the past year. Keep up the good work man and I appreciate you sharing this with everyone. You have taught me alot of the years.

I am quite impressed. I am a retired Marine and an ex "Security Contractor" in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I would feel safer with this than a lot of other armour I wore there. Is it 100% bullet proof? No, but neither is anything else you are going to get.

Do a coop with Alec steel. Increase your reach my man. Capitalist marketing algorithms are the problem, your labour is quality, femme worker.
@DavidGuyton3 ай бұрын
Alec built one of my pieces and gave me credit in the videos he made about it. I also had big channels like ZNA Productions and Demolition Ranch do similar. This channel just will not get any traction anymore and I don't have the energy to guess at what KZfaq wants me to do to fix it. I have bills to pay and I can't waste time on projects that cost me hundreds of dollars to produce and I only get a fraction of it returned in ad revenue (let alone the month it takes me to do a project like this)
@sarchlalaith88363 ай бұрын
@@DavidGuyton I remember, it's how I found the channel. I follow zna too. I didn't.honestly think he was a big channel, always feel like he's fun though, but his armour is... Not great, fun but not great, this... Is art. KZfaq is such a massive c*nt They constantly f*CK with all the gun tubers too. I haven't seen the one with demo ranch. I follow them though I'm reluctant to sub because they host donut operator a lot and he's a real piece of s**t about the homeless. I do not like that man. Kyle robar is an astonishingly good knife maker. Perhaps like him you could auction what you make and the videos then are.. Kinda like a bonus.? Very nice! I'm gonna try to make a Late Bronze Age breast plate and I'm considering rolling the edges around the armpits and the neck. Would you advise rolling the edges before or after bending the sheet metal into shape?
@DavidGuyton3 ай бұрын
You'll have to get your basic shape into the sheet metal before you roll the edges. If you do it before, it will strengthen the edge so much that you won't be able to shape it. Also, if you are working with bronze rather than steel, you'll need to anneal it, and annealing for bronze is tricky because you have to quench it in water while still orange hot. Difficult to do with large pieces. See my latest Memento Mori mask tutorial for some info on bronze, and definitely check out Thak Ironworks for lots of relevant info on it.

I used a 0.1mm sheet of brass to experiment, and it's soft enough to emboss it by hand....however, unlike pewter or aluminium, once you emboss it, the sheet becomes completely warped, even after trying to flatten it with various tools....making it almost impossible to secure it down onto a flat support :(
@MRBACKHAND3 ай бұрын
what do you think of using Balsa Wood for making the dash and inner door shaping, and the dashboard and instrument panels?
@DavidGuyton3 ай бұрын
I would not use balsa, personally. Far too soft. If you do end up using a wood or MDF, I would suggest painting on a layer of fiberglass resin onto the back side of it so that water can't penetrate it....especially in door panels.
