The DNR lies all the time. The said the Wolves that were reintroduced wouldn’t come to the power peninsula. Of course they have. They found a collard Michigan wolf in Colorado.

I saw one driving to work overtime on a Friday night in Kent county with snow lightly coming down. I was coming up over a crest and saw eyes in the road and i said "Deer" got closer as it had gotten yo the left side of the road and as my headlights hit it just right saw what i would guess was an 80# cat looking at me over her right shoukder. What a beautiful animal. Some believed me some didnt. I dont give a shit what they think. This was in 2003 or 2004.and was on Lincoln Lake ave.

They don't deny mountain lions in Michigan. They are skeptical of so called proof or sightings. Your claim that only mountain lions cover their kill is also false. Which only proves why the DNR is skeptical.

We measured the pic a friend had, with markers for length. It was taken on his bait pile. It was hunting bait piles. Ten feet, with tail. Six feet 200# plus. WELL fed. Turkeys came back, predators followed. Stay alert. They know yer there, and you know their out there. Watch your pets. And kids. opportunists, ya know? Location? Kent County.

About 5 years ago, I saw a large cat with a long tail run across M33 near rose city. I'm quick to laugh at folks who see shadows and claim it is bigfoot, but I clearly saw this animals long tail trailing behind as it cleared the road clearing in 4-5 strides.

I wouldn’t be surprised. They denied the existence of them in the UP forever. They recently had to admit they are there because of that video of the cougar eating the deer. Wolves are down here too! Someone recently shot one in the Battle Creek Area because they thought it was a coyote.

I live in mid Michigan and we had one in our back yard 6 feet from the house mind you. That was February 2023 and in late summer one was sighted 12 miles away. But there have been stories for years , some come with photo evidence. And still the authorities deny they are here. One would think that they should be educating people how to act if or when they encounter a cougar. Instead of sticking their collective heads in the sand.

Yes that's because about 25 years ago one of their interns was walking a path at closing time to clear visitors and had a cougar pop out into the trail and started to follow her. The story was published in the local newspaper, the Morning Sun. After calling her supervisor who told her to walk slowly backwards away from the cat it jumped off the path and she was able to continue with her task. This newspaper ran a series of articles on cougar in Michigan every day for a week. This was around around 1997 or 8 . Time gets away from me.

I saw this short and have to report that this spring my granddaughter was charge by a couger in Monroe county.. When I tried to report it to DNR 4 different people told me that there maybe mountain lions in the UP but they definitely don't den in the lower. To which I informed them that just a few yrs ago the DNR corden off a den site within a mile of my home. I finally was connected to DNR biologist for Monroe county. He wanted time stamped trail camera proof. What a bunch of slackers. There are 3 rivers that converge nearby with miles of woodlands. Keep an eye on your children and pets. I've also have a home 200 hundred miles north where DNR finished off one hit by a car.

I grew up in the Sault and in 1990 I was riding my bike home with a stringer of fish and a mountain lion ran across the road in front of me about 20' away. It stopped for a moment and stared at me then walked away. I called the DNR when I got home to report it and the lady I spoke to said "Officially there are no mountain lions in Michigan, unofficially we know they are here.

I've always viewed things the same as your wife does, I would consider you the 0th generation. Although you earned citizenship, you are always the immigrant and your children will be the first generation. Perhaps this is the traditional view among Americans. Also, I count immigrant generations from the paternal line of a child, much like naming conventions of a surname.

Last October I saw a cougar walk across my yard in broad daylight in Hersey Michigan. It walked up to a ridge in my backyard and then there was another one following it. They were stalking a deer in my yard. Not one but two! I was too shocked and caught off guard to get a pic of the one in the yard. By the time I got my phone/camera they were on the ridge behind some trees. I have a video but it is not very good quality. The sun was shining at me and my filming was shaky, but you can see their profiles. You can tell by the way they walked that they were big cats! I have seen bobcats too, but these were not bobcats! I also got a pic of a track. Sent everything I have to the DNR twice, and they won’t even call me back. I’m convinced they don’t want to know. Maybe it will make too much work for them!🤷🏻‍♀️

The bones look too clean to be resently. Not saying it's not mountain lion kill. There are lions in southern Michigan. A unmark dnr truck picked one up hit on M40 near Lawton about 12-15 y years ago. My son saw one cross our driveway. We lived way out in the country. The corridor along Southern M40 is called cougar (lane)? I heard. A neighbor could miles away, had one walk around his truck while he sat in it. I know of someone that had one in battle creek. Their house caught fire and they released it. It was spotted some time later. A customer of mine and her husband saw one in the field across from their home. The sightings go on and on
