i dont get tho why the embryo would split the spores into haploid cells again, after just being fertilized - isnt it a problem for the spore, when it lands as a haploid instead of of a diploid cell, isnt it the entire goal of (sexual) reproduction, to produce a seed that is diploid so it can divide into a strong and resilient plant? gotta read into this
