Fun fact! Frankenstein is his last name. His monster? Frankenstein named him "adam". making the monster accurately named "adam frankenstein", as he's the uhh...child/creation of Dr. Frankenstein. He is a Frankenstein, so it's fine.
@LukeJobeAGB101
@LukeJobeAGB101 15 күн бұрын
So, this is the stance I've held for a long time on it, but my only note is that technically, the monster is never named Adam in the story. He just considers naming him, but settles on the monster naming itself. I do think it is a fitting name, though, and many people have accepted it as his name. I personally believe referring to the monster by his functional surname, Frankenstein, is fine. This video was made before the discourse around the name became much of a meme though, so I was earnestly trying to share information I thought was interesting.

@@cainreval7885 it is nice of you to share that feedback you obviously care enough to try and help him out. interesting concept for the video - Idk if i've seen another that acknowledged this aspect of game development - having to balance theming vs focus. Feels like today we just use UI elements for determining focus primarily - games are larger in scale.

It would have been great if the game asked you in the remake: hey do you want to play like the old and shitty card system or you prefer a more action rpg battle system like KH 1. No one would touch the card system again. It's awful, bad idea.
@LukeJobeAGB101

I agree that they should have offered that as an option. It makes sense for a Gameboy Advance game to have a system like this if they are trying to retain the entirety of Sora's capabilities of the PS2 game, but they have such a functionally limited button set to work with. Since it was done out of necessity though, they should have taken advantage of the return to the more advanced platform with some sort of combat system more inline with the first game, or at least offer the option. I personally don't mind the card combat, but they should have made it more accessible to people not interested in the change when they had the chance.

I was so torn on whether to buy this back in the day because it cost 1000 Wii points and used up a lot of blocks on the system memory. Now I have a 32gb SD card and £7 seems cheap, but it's long been unavailable to buy...Oh well, at least I have Crystal Bearers :)

I like your videos because they are deep dives. Most “Hidden Gems” are not really hidden because half a dozen KZfaqrs have highlighted them. You’re digging into good games that they missed. Among the 900-1000 games widely dismissed as shovelware, there have got to be dozens and dozens that are fun-even if hundreds are not. One major KZfaqr has like 175 Wii games in his entire collection. That would seem to suggest there are a thousand games he’s never tried. Trivia: how many games have you played that you rejected? What percentage truly earns the name “Shovelware”? Anyway, I’m sure there are still far more in the way of hidden gems, and I look forward to the results of your future research.

Dragon Quest? It's Dragon Warrior. Unless of course I'm mistaken & you are from Japan or something.

That's fair, I just went ahead and referred to them as they would be retroactively known. The modern person is likely only vaguely aware of "Dragon Warrior", but everyone knows about "Dragon Quest". I was trying to avoid general confusion, but wanted to help make things clear by using the Dragon Warrior graphic.

@@LukeJobeAGB101 it might be an age thing. I'm old enough to have played Dragon Warrior when it 1st came out for the NES. It makes sense that Dragon Quest might be more well known to a younger generation because of the interesting lore behind it & many other games that are named something different for various releases. I guess this phenomenon extends to movies as well. For w/e reason many foreign countries like to name things differently. Side note about Dragon Warrior; I don't know where the game was originally developed but if I had to guess I'd say Japan. Which means that it might have been us ( USA ) that changed the title to Dragon Warrior. So overall you are correct, sir. ;)
