Love your music. Have been listening for the past 2 years. Just found this on KZfaq and feel a little bummed out that I was the like that pushed it from 666 to 667. <3

I learn about this song from the Night Vale podcast, I'm late to the game. I'm thrilled to have more new music to learn and love, as I love Koshekh.

It's interesting always seeing how people interpret songs. What i found interesting was the use of phrases and words that people would (and probably still) use to describe someone as basically a fool. The phrase "don't worry your pretty little head" I'm sure many of us have heard before. Usually in a negative way, but the recipient is often portrayed as not noticing it and being a "fool" to the insult. "Hook, line and sinker" is also a phrase used for similar meaning. Might have heard it in more late 1900s movies, where they basically pulled a "fast one" over someone else. Took the bait and the caster got what they wanted. Calling essentially the "catch" the "fool" for falling for an obvious trap. And the more literal lyrics "I'm so, so slow". And then the more morbid parts mixed in with someone constantly being called a fool and outcasted. It reminds me of a disregarded child. The unwanted one. Extremely lonely and unloved, violent tendencies because of it. Used by her siser and her sisters lover because they "can't say no". Whether that be because of nonverbal complications or the desire for just any human interaction and attention. Or maybe it could be a more positive interpretation and that her sisters lover actually does like the singer, but their love is "wrong", which could explain the lyrics "Wanna have your baby, but I'm so, so slow" as a whole. Heck, maybe the singer in this story is special needs. Often a neglected portion of society, especially in the era this song's visual is depicted in. Or just mentally ill to some capacity. Not unheard of just being murdered because of their existence as a "stain" to the family. I like the seeming metaphor with the head though because there's a phrase that's says "you'd lose your head if it wasn't attached to your body". Often meaning as an insult for being dumb, forgetful, aloof and/or even being very mentally ill (kind of like "have you lost your marbles?" type way). And when the head is gone, they really did lose it. Figuratively and literally.

from welcome to night vale. The song is beautiful, but lyrics are weird, so I searched in google to know it’s meaning. Finally I find this beautiful and horrible video in midnight.it’s awesome but I am too timid to see it again.

I honestly don't know if you keep track of comments to this video, but I have to admit: once again, this version of this exact song in your exact voice is giving me life today ❤ Thank you so much, yet again.

im listening to night vale for the first time, a decade late to the party, and im keeping a journal of my reactions and occasionally note my favorite weathers. Im also playing catch up listening to good morning night vale on the eps, and just got to the one where they interview eliza rickman and i decided to revisit this song and it turns out, i specifically noted when i listened to the original ep that i liked the weather :) gonna be making a playlist of all the ones i noted, starting with this also the headless effects are so trippy i have no idea how that works amazing job on this music video

Okay but I just read about how the lady's maids of Anne Boleyn (another beheaded queen) carried her decapitated body because they were afraid to have any man touch her, in fear of what they'd do to her. ...really puts the "don't you worry honey 'cause I can't say no" line being sung by a decapitated head in a new and horrifying light

I keep coming back to songs that once made me cry and currently have not such power over me, and while this is not necessarily one I remember vividly as being such a song, it is one that makes me remember the impermanence of time and feelings. it once made me weak and now it makes me feel strong. being your own goal defeats everything
