2009 marked my first ever Lego set at 4 years old. It was the Lego Pirates Kraken Attackin, and I still have the same set that I bought on eBay a few years back. Pirates will always hold a special place in my heart for that.

I was only 3 in 2009 but I remember finding out about these sets in the years later and falling in love with a few of the themes however Power Miners I did get into I'm not sure how I did I must have bought some of the sets in 2010 and some of the stragglers from 2009

The official name of the legion is "Clone Model 102" that's the file name of the concept art, if im not mistaken.

The only thing missing on this figure is the extra thermal detonator and ammo pouches on his back (same as Nayo and Bacara) because of concept image shows the back of this trooper and he has those back attachments.

I never ordered a gcc clone before this one and I also picked up a 212th heavy, the forgotten legion clone has always been a staple for the development of clones imo and especially when it comes to commander cody and this figure is just perfect

Came here to say that you can use an app to scan the barcode on the box and find out what's in it. Feels kinda lame, but I wouldn't buy them otherwise.

I grew up when Bionicle was still around, I only received two characters, even a McDonald's toy version. I didn't start to be interested into Hero Factory until Brain Attack came along.

Like I kind of understand what you mean, but this just seems like you are literally doing the same thing as the people you mentioned at the start lol. I think as a casual consumer, the change to boxes evens the playing field when trying to just buy a few fun random figures. The people who are feeling every single blind bag in every store are still going to find ways like the QR scan to find out what's inside, because their goal is to either collect or resell. Sure this sucks for people who genuinely find the thrill of feeling the bag and trying to get something they really want as a 1 off or a few, but let's be honest is that why people are actually upset about this change? As long as there are people hoarding desirable CMFs, you can't just "have" all the minifigures hold similar value, especially when it comes to something with a random chance being resold. This doesn't really seem like a LEGO issue or a grand conspiracy lol. People found a consistent way of bypassing something that should be random and Lego is trying something different which works for less people, which means more people buying CMFs because they might have a chance to get what they want.

cmfs were always in blind bags, yes you could feel the fig but you were never 100% sure if you got the right one but now with boxes you can scan them and you will always know which fig will get. The package opening issue has been fixed ever since the big qr codes were added with S25 now that the space line was produced without any small qr codes i havent seen a single opened box

I'd argue it's now easier then ever to get the exact minifigs you search for. The qr code on the underside of the boxes, when scanned, reveals what minifigure is inside. It's obscure and the codes differ between EU and USA releases, but it's a 100% guarantee.

They are just like a pack of Pokemon, or Basketball collectors cards... you aren't meant to know what is inside the boxes. It's part of the fun of trying to get the set. It baffles me when people cry UNFAIR about a gamble or a treasure hunt product.

There's an app for that, just scan the QR code. It's even easier to find the desired minifigure than before...

Bruh there are apps around that tell you exactly what's inside. You scan the barcode and I've tested them with every series so far with 100% accuracy. So no need to fall into paying a premium on ebay just smarten up.

Dude, the first few Lego sets my dad gave me were about the Space Police and Power Miners. I absolutely LOVED those sets, and I think the Clutch Powers movie made me even more invested in the sets.

If Randomness allow them to keep the price down then I am for it. Secondly, I found bags like that torn open at the stores as well. What they want is all of them for the cheapest price they can get. Even just going to ebay to pick those they did not have is too high for them.

my biggest problem is there are so many knighta that could be on pick a brick, but because they are cmfs, we will never see some of these factions brought back.

Before as you could feel the bags/had feel guides i think it was fair as you could feel around for what you wanted now with the box style it definitely has taken that aspect away and has now promoted people breaking the boxes out of pure frustration or just to steal/create carnage possible in an attempt to force LEGO to go back. I've kinda of always been against CMFs anyway as of how random they are the likelihood you'd het duplicates and i can't get behind the price increase they used to he £2 now £5 just seems crazy and i don't like/hate buying LEGO solely for Mini Figures. I just brought the Storm, Beast and Wolverine through Amazon/ebay paying a bit more for the guaranteed fig i wanted it is crummy but I'm not risking it.

You can scan the boxes since about 5/6 months so the unfair part is that kids have less chance of getting their favorite figure because it is sold out
