In PoA Hermione passed out whilst Harry was trying to fight off the dementors. So technically they didn't actually attempt to attack her, just Harry and Sirius.

When Molly says "in the normal way" she follows it with "as the muggle postman has never delivered to them and she's not sure he knows where it is. The "normal" way is owl post. She wasn't being derogatory by saying "normal" Vernon asks Harry what she meant by "normal"and he explains that owl post is "normal" for wizards.

Late comment from me Veggie, when Lupin said about missing the Order of Merlin. He was talking about Snape not getting it rather than himself.

After watching your book club reaction to the "he said calmly" from the Goblet, quote, may I add that I find the "you're a wizard Harry", the opposite problem. In the book Hagrid is angry and disgusted that Harry has no knowledge of the wizarding world, let alone his parents and himself. He should absolutely NOT be calm. Anyway, that's just my disgruntled self getting in the way of me enjoying a movie😂

The reason stolas is not the bigger problem (he is a problem, dont get me wrong) in here is because although he ignorantly thought he's matching blitz's bold, open, sexual energy by calling him pet names, unfortunately, the ones he chose were clasisst ones "impish plaything" "tiny little imps" etc. and they chafed against blitz, making him put up even more walls. And to be fair, blitz literally calls him feathered bitch, or other variations of bird themed bitch. Thats on the same level of stolas' nicknames. But the second blitz tells stolas "I (emphasis on the I) dont like this thing you call me", stolas would fall over backwards to never call him that again. Or mend whatever behaviour of his blitz doesnt like that he TELLS him about, because its condescending. Because stolas is not doing any of it on purpose. That's his flaw, that he genuinely is clueless about his wrongdoings with others, even with Octavia. If he would just listen a little more! Otherwise he's pretty great. He's a great communicator, a great emoter, everything. But blitz, who is well aware of his faults even before apology tour would rather be aggressive and hostile before addressing any of it. He LETS his issues cause problems in his life. He knew his self hatred stops him from apologising and while he came pretty close in the ep, my baby, he still is too fucked up and traumatized emotionally to get with stolas- irrespective of stolas being classist or not. He will still hurt his loved ones because he doesnt just have walls up, those walls have spears and barbs on them. Until he breaks those walls, he isnt gonna go nowhere.

one thing I absolutely despise this musical for is the pizza delivery scene.... why would batman order pizza directly to wayne manor? that blows up his entire secret identity thing... what he'd really do is order it to some abandoned building, hack the traffic lights to make the pizza delivery person late so he gets the pizza for free, he'd break the pizza delivery person's knees for being late, then he'd offer them a slice of pizza, when they decline he'd break their collar bone, then he'd call in his weaponized orphans to finish the job as he finishes the succulent cheesed bread.

I watched Buffy the movie when it was new and I was 12. It's worth watching once. The plot was a great idea but it was also an early 90's comedy, so it was very silly. Lots of potential, but it really needed a series to give it justice.

Apart from Dobby, House Elves pick up the attitudes and lingo of the family they work for, so the line "some common goblin" is most likely something Crouch would say around the house.

I know I'm way late to the party here, but the Gringotts things I always put it down to Goblins living by their own laws. They consider themselves guardians of other people's treasures but they don't follow the laws of wizards and witches. You see more about Goblins later but yeah, that's how I justify why they were fine with using Black's vault. It's Black's money, they don't care if he's wanted by the ministry 🤷🏻‍♀️

Regarding vampire accents - one thing to consider is that over the course of a century or two, many vampires will have wandered the world a bit, and their accents will likely gradually evolve, as they adjust to the way the folks speak in the area they are currently hunting. James Marsters who plays Spike was born in California, in Greenville. Juliet Landau who plays Drusilla was also born in California, in LA.

This is too funny to me because I know a guy who comes from around where Veg must live(they even look alike with similar accents, it's very bizarre to me lol) and he watched this episode years ago and was shocked that Spike was suppose to even be English. He thought he was from New York or something. I explained to him exactly what you just said, that people lose their accents in America over time. Now he's been in America a very long time and his accent has faded so much it almost started to sound fake! 🤣

@@Gwenhwyfar7 LOL he has become what he once mocked! Amusingly, I've heard Giles' accent is a bit more posh than Tony Head's actual accent, and apparently he coached James Marsters in something close to his normal accent!

Yeah, SCHOOL HARD is phenomenal, a legendarily good episode. And Spike is my favorite vampire of all time, I'm so happy you've met and approve. Oh, and the actors who play spike and dru are both American stage actors, so their accents are fake and their acting is fantastic. The fee, fi fo, fum line is from something Shakespeare, their idea. They're fun to have around. And they had to get rid of the teenage vampire, as he was due for a growth spurt and vamps aren't supposed to change. Besides, showed you what a badass Spike was.

Great reaction, pretty much how I felt at the time. The arrival of Spike and Dru really marks the beginning of the incredible heights the series achieves. Most Slayers are "Called" in their mid-teens. Few make it to 18... Spike, unlike other Vampires, actively hunts Slayers. He references the one in the Boxer Rebellion when he's bragging to the Annoying One. Drusilla-mad, loopy, psychic and vicious-is one of the most consistently terrifying vamps.

That's actually an interesting insight about football and boxing, I didn't know that. I'm not really into sports in general, I get most of my sports knowledge from sports anime lmao The only ones I've really had any interest in is Soccer/football and tennis. Other than that I'm more into artistic sport, like Gymnastics, figure skating, atc.

One of the most iconic scenes in the whole show when Spike ( one of the greatest characters in The Buffyverse ) rolls into town and drives right over the Sunnydale sign. School Hard is one of the greatest episodes of S2. James Marsters was so impressive in the role, he became an instant fan favourite. Some great writing in this episode, when Xander goes to get Buffy's bag and pulls out a yoyo, tampon and then stake, this shows Buffy from child, to teenager, to adolescent showing how she is growing up. Great too when Joyce clobbers Spike on the head with the axe. All in all a great episode for early S2 with Angel/Spike/Drusilla who have a shared history through the centuries to add to the arc of the Season.
