Don't know how well my Lexus UX matches your RAV4 hybrid system, but one thing I've recently noticed might help. I've got a digital voltmeter plugged into the cigarette light socket and recently noticed that the voltage rises when I put the car into Park (which I believe is a slight overcharge of the battery to balance the stronger and weaker cells). Basically, when I first start the car I see 14.4 volts, which is typical of a charging battery. After a while, the voltage rapidly drops to 12.4 volts which I think means that the battery is fully charged and is simply being floated. However, if I put the car into Park the voltage then rises to 13.7 volts. I've now taken to put the car into Park at traffic lights etc. instead of leaving the car in Drive. Might be worth using Park more often at the end of a journey when you've got time to spare. PS - Small plug in voltmeters are very cheap (mine cost less than £4 including delivery from China) so keeping an eye on the battery in this way is pretty cheap.

It was a software bug with the RAV4 that it would sometimes drain the 12v battery till it wouldn't start. Literally touching the jump box to the battery and it was back and running. Eventually I had to replace the 12v battery as it was drained low too many times. Its been about 6 months since I replaced it and no issues. Fingers crossed.

What a great effort you ladies slayed that race, I was too concerned with the weather I tapped out at Miami after arriving at 11:55 got out expecting storms, napped got up at 6 had a bad feeling and hit the forbidden button, your attempt is inspiring, big-time I glad I watched this I needed it.❤

You have 2. More than likely they got the secondary cat. Primary is built into the manifold. So that's pretty annoying to ever deal with because it's so tight in there.

That was me yesterday on my 3rd gen 4Runner around 10 pm i was walking to my car after i was at a freinds house, turned the car on & i got spooked cause it was loud. Made an insurance claim but i haven’t done a police report yet. Did you get new cats or decided to straight pipe them or you got a cat security.

Sorry to hear that. Insurance covered all but my deductible. I paid 1,000, they paid 850. I took it to Toyota and had a factory replacement put on. Good luck so far with the new one.

It sucks, but its repaired and behind me now. I only occasionally worry when I park somewhere if it'll be okay when I get back. But after 30,000 miles, I still love the car!!!

I have the base model. When the trim goes up, lots changes. Mine even has a physical key to start it. I'm actually a huge fan of the actual key. My wife has a '12 Camry Hybrid with the push button start. Seems like every other time I drive it, I"m trying to figure out if its off when getting out. With the physical key, I never worry, if its in my hand, its off!

I had a 3 way junction of PVC pipe screwed in the boat. From there, a PVC pipe screwed in to that one that was taller than me sitting down. screwed the camera into a screw and forgot about it for the rest of the race.

I love Lost Creek and Massas Creek. First gravel road I ever went on - Just did it again a week or so after this posting. I probably ride out in that area about every 6-8 weeks as I have a nice dual sport loop from Weldon Spring to Jonesburg I enjoy that takes about 3 hours one way.

Thanks. We switched to keep our muscles fresh. The double blades added about 1 mph to our speed. However we kept to single blades from about dinner time till first thing in the morning to minimize splashing and stay dry and warm. Good luck with your racing!

Its all about practice and preparation. Our next 340 was 10th overall and 49h 48m time. So lots of practice and experience. Good luck racing!

I am registering this year still need to figure a few things out like how I'll get my yak up there from st.charles. I will be solo and unsupported. Well I'll have virtual support at least. You guys made great time. How much sleep did you guys get?

Its different every year. We each probably got 8 hours in 2014. The boat in the video is rigged so we can sleep in it and minimize stops. Therefore it was only off the water a very short period of time. Check out facebook.com/SunsetRaceMeramec to see our monthly paddle on the Meramec river in Valley Park, MO the 2nd Thursday of each month year round. You can pick our brains in person about the race. There is also a very active paddling community that does varying lengths of training runs that end at Blanchette Access in St. Charles on the Mo river. Group up and train with people this coming year and make the most out of it. You'll make tons of new friends and learn tons about distance paddling. We took turns sleeping inside the boat. That boat has foot controlled rudder in the front and back enabling us to not even need to change seats. I got about 5 hours of sleep inside of the boat during the race. Jo Jo also got about the same amount of sleep.
