The ones in red tunics and bearskin hats are the Guards Division (household division): -Grenadier Guards -Coldstream Guards -Scots Guards -Irish Guards -Welsh Guards The Pipes and Drums: -The London Scottish Pipes and Drums -Number 12 Company Pipes and Drums of the Irish Guards The State Trumpeters: -Life Guards -Blues and Royals (Household Cavalry)

Un show cu adevarat spectaculos, multumesc pentru filmare! Mi-a placut foate mult faptul ca au tinut sa introduca un segment special dedicat aniversarii a 80 de ani de la Debarcarea din Normandia, cu fotografii si clipuri din anii '40 pe durata spectacolului (primele erau dupa blitzkrieg-ul nemtilor si urmatoarele erau filmate chiar la Debarcare si ulterior) dar si la final. Segmentele cu scotienii au fost cele mai emotionante, cel putin pentru mine. Dintotdeauna mi-au placut enorm cimpoaiele scotiene si ma bucur foarte mult ca le-au introdus in spectacol🥰🥰🥰🥰 Ca si trivio info: segmentul solo cantat de soldatul scotian in timpul spectacolului a fost exact cantecul cantat la Debarcarea din Normandia, pe 6 iunie 1944, pe Plaja Sword (mai exact, sectorul Sword al plajei) Printr-un miracol de la Dumnezeu, soldatul scotian care a cantat atunci pe plaja, nu a fost impuscat, a supravietuit Debarcarii (oricum, acel sector al plajei nu a fost atat de intens mitraliat, cum au fost sectoarele americanilor pe Omaha si Utah, dar chiar si asa). Anul acesta, pe 6 iunie 2024, exact in acelasi loc, la 8.00 dimineata, acest cantec a fost cantat din nou in Normandia, marcand debutul festivitatilor aniversarii celor 80 de ani. Cel mai neasteptat moment, cel putin pentru mine, a fost partea in care au imbinat cantecele pop/rock cu muzica de fanfara. Stiu ca au mai facut-o si anii trecuti, dar daca la unele formatii era oarecum de asteptat (Muse, Queen, Colplay, chiar si David Bowie), la AC/DC chiar NU ma asteptam, aia fost cireasa de pe tort!😅😅🤩🤩🤘🤘🤘Mi-au placut din nou ca au facut un cover al unei alte formatii preferate, oarecum inaintea spectacolului propriu-zis, de la minutul 1:26 melodia se numeste "Iris" si este a formatiei de rock alternativ Goo Goo Dolls (sunt americani) Este una din cele mai faimoase piese ale lor.🥰🥰

It’s beating retreat .. no,’of the’ or ‘the’ … it stems from the recall of troops from outside the city walks/ gates at the end of the day .. either by bugle or drum, now a yearly parade either by the Massed bands of His Majesty’s Royal Marines , or the massed bands of the Guards division

David Dumbraveanu ... I'm impressed with this video as you have caught the clarity and detail perfectly well without any camera-shake or wobble. It makes pleasant viewing. Well Done DD. I'm also extremely impressed with the detail and perfection of The Massed Bands of HM Royal Marines ... The music is excellent and a credit to the musicianship of all performers today.
