Yes, portable hard drives maxxed out at 5tb a long time ago. It just for make sense. you’re gonna need to get desktop sized drives to get 22+ TB unless you want to go solid state.

In November of 1998, I got my first phone, it was the Philips Isis. I remember buying $30 dallar cards to fill up the minutes on this phone and the result was only 38 minutes per card. August, 2001 I got my second phone, this one was not a prepaid, but subscribed to a 2 year contract with Sprint. It was the Sanyo SCP 4700. Under the Sprint network, they gave us 300 weekday minutes and unlimited talk time between 7pm to 7am on weekdays and unlimited weekends for $39.99. 22 years later (summer of 2024) I still have it it's original box in my bedroom closet. Currently as of October of 2023, I'm using a Google Pixel 8 Pro on Mint mobile for $15 a month, 5GB of data and Unlimited talk and text. Man, tech has come such a long way! 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

My Spotify was a Walkman. I still remember the way a tape cassette clicked into place and the sounds of the "door" and the feel of the buttons as you press down to get the tape to play or rewind. I miss all of it!

I wasn't born until 2004, and I'll never know what life was like back then. But man what I would give to live back then. It just seems like the experience was more human. No phones or social media, way more focussed on humans, and the whole human experience. But thats all just a romanticised view in my head in the end.

Welcomes to the digital world where everything is now on our cell phones and computers via Bluetooth Tv's smart TV tv Roku everything is now streaming making Steros Dvd's VHS Camcorders all obsolete. Best Buy is like the only Electronic store chain left Circuit city Comp USA and Fry's all gone it's only a matter of time when Best Buy will also be a thing of the past.

I agree with you. I remember i used to LOVE going to best buy, frys, circuit city etc... the tech was so colorful, robust and more unique. Now everything looks the same.

I'm still using my $1,200.00 ASUS desk top from 2012. It is still working well, but stuck with windows 8 because it could not take the updates of windows 10. I wonder if the new version of windows would work better? Anyways, I used to love Circuit City, especially the higher end ones that had the listening room. Remember the Federated? I used to love that also.

I used to buy cd’s at Best Buy in the 90’s. They had a huge collection. Then in the 2000’s I’d shop for PlayStation games and computer games, car stereo with the faceplates. Now there’s no reason to even go there. Almost everything there you can buy at Amazon for 50% what Best Buy is charging. They don’t even come close to competing with prices.

Today's "electronics" revolve around the Smartphone and streaming. Lack of competition and innovation leads to further stagnation.

The time to listen to music is when you're at home. If you're feeding that stuff to your head when out and about, what's special about it? That's a time you should pay attention to what you're doing and be available to HEAR PEOPLE WHEN THEY'RE TALKING TO YOU! I've seen people hit by cars, even a BUS! I mean, who doesn't hear a BUS coming? Then if you make it home, you don't even want to hear those songs anymore.

Screw spotify. Put that Fisher system in her bedroom with one speaker at her right ear, and the other at her left ear. Put on an album and crank it up. Nat needs a job, instead of out-of-word Dad paying for her spotify. Santa Gil, you are too nice about stuff like that.🎅

I have not been to Best Buy in years, the last time I went I got a stereo with CD player put in,the original had a cassette player,I was a little late on the CD craze, I replaced some of my 80's cassette tapes with the same CD,I remember Radio Shack, and Sears in the 80's.
