Thank you for this tutorial. I find it difficult to find swim suits for me as I age. I have been searching for a swim suit tutorial and yours is very direct and now I have confidence to try sew one. I just need to find a swim dress pattern that I love.

It turned out Beautiful! I have a rayon panel print that I want to sew and this tutorial gives me hope! I suppose doing a facing for the armscye you could go sleeveless.

Yes, I think you could do a facing for the armscye. Happy sewing!

Is the neck band cut on a bias?
@EllieandMacPatternsLLCКүн бұрын
It is cut horizontally. The stretch fabric doesn’t require being cut on the bias.🩷

Does it say on the zipper pack how big the teeth are? And on the pulls, does it say what size they fit?
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC2 күн бұрын
Great question. The zipper tape and pulls will have a number. #5 or #3 usually. You will get the same number for both the pull and the zipper tape.

Is it for stretch or woven?
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC4 күн бұрын
Great question! Fabric Recommendation: This pattern was designed to be made using mid to heavy weight fabrics. Fabric Options for the Outer Jacket may include, but are not limited to: Wool, Cotton, Jacquard, lightweight Denim, Corduroy or Raincoat Fabrics. Fabric Options for the Lining may include, but are not limited to: silk and silky like types of fabric or a nice lightweight cotton blend. We especially advise using a slippery fabric to line the sleeves

Ooh! Could you modify the pattern to make the flounce part a cover for a breastfeeding friendly dress/top?! I don't wear anything but v neck dresses right now, but sometimes I need/want something a little more modest for church.

Thank you for this clear tutorial for this lovely top! 1 tip for the neckband: when you fold it, carefully cut the sergerseam on the fold. Then fold one side of the sergerseam to the left and the other side to the right. That way it gets less "bulky". I hope I explained it clearly.

For craft projects like this is it still best practice to pre wash the fabrics?
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC12 күн бұрын
I would say it’s based on whether you will launder the product or not. If not, then most likely you would be okay not to pre wash the fabric.
