thanks for the video! question: is that final tight turn realistic? as in real life flying. thanks!
@simplysimulator
@simplysimulator Ай бұрын
Fair question - long answer…. I did have to correct quite quickly as I mis-judged the approach a little. I have never flown a small jet in real life so for jest I could not be sure. For the Tomahawk and the Cherokee, ideally you should not be turning more than 15 degrees when in a climb or descent as you have less lift in the wings. If you have enough speed then a tighter turn is Ok when needed and up to 30 degrees for lower duration turns is sustainable as long as you watch your speed. Tighter turns whether in a descent of not risk losing the wing and spiralling down - obviously to be avoided. My experience is the the aim is pretty accurate as long as you do not have too many assists activated - mine is all set to ‘realistic’ settings. Short answer is Yes I think it is though to be avoided lol.

@@simplysimulator thank you! I'm pretty new to flying in sims, but from my research, it seems that even though the planes are technically capable of major bank angles, pilots in real life generally avoid going too far. I'm still trying to understand why, to the specifics. Maybe the plane would be more vulnerable to wind gusts, or maybe it would me more difficult to recover from any failure and decrease the margin for human errors. Anyway, thanks again!
@simplysimulator
@simplysimulator Ай бұрын
@awhifaw yep the wings lose lift the higher the bank angle and therefore combined with losing speed you can either stall or spin or both! My instructor was very clear 15 degree turn max in climb or descent 30 degree max in level turns depending on speed and conditions etc. Once you get beyond those you start to risk stability and safety - safety must be the first concern always.

If the buttons are working that is a good sign. Have you checked in the settings and options whether the G920’is selected as the controller - worth opening Forza using the button on the wheel rather than the controller. Otherwise, be methodical.. check all the connections including the plug and fuse. Try a different usb socket on the Xbox X. Unplug and plug the usb joining cable - pushing it firmly. Check the cables for catching and fraying a couple of the cables can get stretched. Good luck let me know if you get it sorted and how?

There are hundreds of videos on KZfaq relating to FSX/P3D settings, each one seems to have its own secret recipe for beautifying or speeding up the simulator. Personally, I unchecked "Dynamic 3D Autogen Vegetation" to get rid of those horrible bright light green trees. As for the "HDR Lighting" item, I enable and disable it alternately, and I still haven't decided which is better. However, I take your advice into account in this regard, since you have flown in real life, and therefore you know what you see when you are up high!!! Ciao from Italy, e grazie !!!

This calculation really came home today - just chatting and mentioned my weight at 92.3kg (don’t know how it came up now)…. This prompted a need to do a recalculation and I could not fly as I was said to be too heavy for the Piper Tomahawk lol even though the instructor was only 73kg, They would not allow lighter fuel despite being on my 17th flying lesson as too complicated or admin. I need to consider what next as my simulator is based on the Tomahawk. I came home with the result ringing in my ears - too fat to fly! #toofattofly

Good morning - sorry this is still playing up I know how frustrating gadgets can be sometimes it is like they do it on purpose! Not sure what wires you have in mind. There are four cables coming out of the back of my wheel i) goes to the gear change, ii) connect to the pedals, iii) is the usb connection and the last one goes to the power block/adapter. Worth tracing each of the cables to see if they are frayed or snagged. Checking the power is plugged into the power block properly, check the plug - maybe in another socket or extension if you have one - also check the fuse in the plug. I would also try a different USB port (are you on the Xbox or a PC?). Finally, a few people on the channel have reported an internal fault in wiring could lead to a problem so for that I advise reaching out to Logitech whether or not it is in warranty. Hope you get it sorted. Can still do a short video if needed - though note sure what that would/could add?

@simplysimulator
@simplysimulator 5 ай бұрын
Yes the howl is very distinctive and evocative - though not unique to the Vulcan … explanation is “The howl is unique to the 200 series airframes. It is caused by approximately 100 kilos of air per second being sucked through a square hole which then changes into a smaller oval hole and then a slightly smaller round hole (small is relative here.) Try blowing over the neck of a glass bottle and you’ll get a similar effect (though not as spectacular).” Thanks for your interest and feedback very much appreciated.

Just having this issue with a G29. Checked fuses, everything’s good but it won’t work. Slow blinking light seems to be a power cord issue. So at least there’s that

Hi fsuipc I have the free version if I buy it online, will it just override it when I install it or will I need to delete the free one first then purchase this one ? I also have the Boeing yoke from thrustmaster having some control issues. I wonder if this would solve it ?

On the code - you can just purchase the license (make sure you have the right version of FSUIPC and therefore get the right licence for the sim you are using). Pete Dawson the developer confirms “The only difference between a free installation of FSUIPC and a paid one is the Key you purchase which unlocks more facilities”. On the separate thrustmaster question unhelpfully the answer has to be ‘that depends’… (sorry) - FSUIPC does have more options for controllers, keys and buttons but normally calibrating a yoke within the sim should be enough to ensure it works effectively, if it is flying controls that are the issue unless the yoke itself has a fault. Good luck let me know how you get on?

Have you tried all the fixes …. Check the power connection into the block, power cables for splits and the plug fuse (this is the least obvious). Then try another usb socket as that sometimes works. If not then some have reported a loose wire can cause that and if so best to speak with Logitech support as it would be a pretty technical fix. Let me know how you get on?

Hello, can we change the way that Saitek radio shows the frequencies? Instead of 122.80, would it be like 22.800? I have got FSUIPC 7 installed on MSFS 2020. Any chances?

I use SPADNext with the panels that allows you to set the frequency steps to .025. I also tried MSFS as well as p3D and it seems to be aircraft dependent for example …. the Tomahawks (Alabeo or Just Flight) only go to two digits and some of the older aircraft. The Phenom jet, moodey Acclaim - with the Garmin 1000 and the 747 all go to three digits after the point. Probably the model of the radios included in those aircraft?

Hi, I saw that you purchased P3DV6... do you think it's worth it, have you noticed significant improvements compared to previous versions? ... Thank you, and congratulations for the consistency with which you make videos, the channel is growing in content ... ciao.
