I swear this guy was the most untalented producer in the history of recorded music. Every single beat this sucker made was crap and now everyone acts like he was Mozart or something just because he died. Nobody was EVER hyped about his generic bs beats when he was still alive but as soon as he was dead everyone acted like he was a genius. If i ever have the opportunity i will shit on his grave.

People like Dawkins and Hitchens are (were) enchanted by their intellects, their command of English and their ability to dazzle many people with written and (in Hitchen's case also) spoken English. Their crusade against stupid religious people is largely an endeavor to aggrandize their own enormous egos. Jesus, Buddha, and all the major profets made a point of teaching how to gain wisdom by eliminating the ever destructive ego. Dawkins imagines that reverance for "scientific truth" will provide meaning for mankind. Hitchens was more down to earth; his comfort was - whiskey.

I really miss beats like these, just chill atmospheric, not over produced and jazzy with DEEP spunding natural drums. We really need to bring these back.

I'm going to be honest. I took me a long time to get used to Q-Tip post ATCQ and post Phife. Was not a fan of The Love Movement and hated Amplfied- just couldn't adjust to his new way of rhyming in the post-Native Tongues "P-Diddy Bling Era". But since the passing of Phife (Rest in Power) and We Got It From Here... I've revisited his discography and found new appreciation for the direction he took in the 2000s.

Hitchens is unsurpassed in his ability to expose stupid malignant religiosity and authority. His eloquence, brilliance, wit and humor are unsurpassed. Now - he is amusing to a point. You can only endure so much of negativism - warrented or not. Where is the alternative? He has vaguely mentioned leftist views and Marxism - he is not nearly as erudite on these topics. And science, which he embraced wholeheartedly, without having a clue what it is about. That is by definition - faith. What we do know - even from Hitchens himself, although of course not as eloquently as you might wish, is that he found his real comfort in two things - cigarettes and whiskey. Those two substances killed him - by his own choice.

9:23 "Who's going to decide--to whom do you award the right to decide which speech is harmful?" or who is the harmful speaker? Or to determine in advance what are the harmful consequences going to be that we know enough about in advance to prevent? To whom would you give this job? To whom are you going to award the task of being the censor?" " Did you hear any speaker in the opposition to this motion, eloquent as one of them was, to whom you would delegate the task of *deciding for you* what you could read? Who would you give the job of deciding for you, relieve you of the responsibility of hearing what you might have to hear? "Do you know anyone? Hands up... Do you know anyone to whom you would give this job? Does anyone have a nominee?! ... You mean there's no one in Canada good enough to decide what I can read? Or hear? I had no idea...!!!!" "But there's a law that says there must be such a person, or there's a subsection of some piddling law that says it. Well, to hell with that law then! "It's inviting you to be liars and hypocrites, and to deny what you evidently know already. About the censorious instinct, we basically know all that we need to know and we've known it."

Christopher gone, William f Buckley jr gone. Gore Vidal gone. The landscape is decidedly bare. The world feels it. Particularly comment against these uneducated woke students. I worry about where it’s going. Edit: I did not mean to suggest they shared identical opinions. Only that I respected their opinion on many matters, whether I agreed or not. I was always sure they had given a lot of thought to the topic.
