What's to stop someone purchasing this product and then using the keys to then go and steal a defender that has one fitted??

The two keys that you get with the Optimill steering wheel lock are numbered so they will only fit your steering wheel lock and will not work in someone else's system...just make sure that you keep the space keys somewhere safe... like the same thing as your Defender car keys...👍

Every time you see a Lano video, they are usually on newish trucks with very little sign of rust. I have a 97 300tdi, and as I live in a rust belt, the underside is always rusty. I have used Dinitrol for a while, which slows rust down, but recently have switched to lanoguard. However why they don't make a black version puzzles me. I got round to adding graphite powder which makes a difference in the final finish. You still have to use it annually - as with other products. However the cavity application leaves a lot to be desired with older vehicles, as there is rust in the chassis bottoms, and lano will not touch it.

I had my Defender Td5 From New and one of the first things I did was to wax the chassis and the Bulkhead it's one of those things that need to be done every time a year and it all depends on what you use your landrover for... as Defender rot most From the inside out... with it being box section I use some many different products to help keep back the rust...! Also consider the Bilt Hamber Dynax products. Supposed to be comparable if not better. I have just ordered some and hoping for good results. Love your truck buddy, it’s a shame we have to continually fight the rust bug in the UK. 👍

Great site Rob. Love the work lights, nice touch on the back of the D. I must admit, I'm a sucker for Optimill too. How did you do your headliner? I have a grotty old white one and would like to cover it with Alcantara or an equivalent. Best, Nick.

The headliner is Genuine Alcantara in My Defender and the same with the sun visors had it about 5 years ago... the original headliner I sold looks brand new... what you can do is take your headliner out and you can carpet it with stretch carpet there's always somebody selling it at the Land Rover shows very straightforward to do... @@RobLandroverAdventures I fitted them to mine about three months ago. Will do the front doors next, just have the steel hinge guards currently. The hinges are easy to fit and look great. It would be good to think that insurance companies took Defender door and bonnet security into consideration when quoting. BTW, the bottom one takes the longest and start with the middle one.

I’ve found optimil stuff a bit hit and miss, their door handles are complete garbage, but the quick release boss and swivel lock are great.

On initial inspection of the Optimill "swivel lock", it appears really easy to bypass, it's 3-4 grinder cuts and you can bypass it. So that would be about 3-4 minutes, yes it will slow a thief, but that's in reality it. slow, by about 4 minutes. Also to consider, the removable steering wheel is not road legal in the UK, as it can be removed while the vehicle is in motion - that makes it insecure. If it were to have a lock to it, then it would be able to be type approved, it's not so again, cannot be legal on UK roads. TA is required for any vehicle after 98.

Just adds a bit more security to a Landrover Defender...it all helps along with some other things! Optimill has sold hundreds... of these quick-release boss and steering locks I am happy with it just make sure it put on properly before you drive away...Thanks for your message...👍

Nice video Rob. I did the same about six months ago and am well chuffed. Only one problem.... getting the dammed steering wheel off! On an 18 Yr old 90 I've had from new, I knew it hadn't been off😂 Another great product from Optimil.... they really are the Dog's bo##ocks!

That's nice and secure. Without the cap you could use a vice grip to steer. That's what thieves in South Africa do. I had a mate who's car was stolen so many times that he used to take the spark plugs out at night.

Yeah, unfortunately, Landrover Defender do get stolen...! Another good tip is to take the fuel pump relay out on a Td5 definitely won't start...if that is removed 👍

On my Defender running tyre size 315/16/12.50 which is like 35" Wheels are Mack 5 Challenge Steel Deep Rims with an offset 10, they do look the part on the Defender... Thanks...👍

Hi Dan, yeah you can do that... I just used brake cleaner on the outside of the Td5 rock cover but if you're going to be doing any electrical parts just make sure you use electrical cleaner but it not necessary as the injector harness clips over the top of the injector on the Td5...
