I haven’t really been inspired to play to win in long time, I might need a new mouse or something 😂 I only really pushed it a bit for this video and the one before it, but I find that my aim is just lacking and used to be better. I’ll be reuploading older demos to show off the new reshade settings I tweaked, hopefully they still look good after compression 😅

This is a demo at 70-90 fps because reshade has been added, which is gpu intensive, imagine making that stupid comment because you didn’t know that lol

Raytracing? The graphics don't look that improved over the Radeon 9800 days, some of it could be compression, idk. I saw fatality posted a quake live video the other day, and he was using lowest settings and there was stuttering, lag, or recording strutting of some kind. Quake players specifically go for 125fps because of a physics engine exploit for jumping. This might be a recorded demo playback, but idk why using reshade over a video editor to add graphics, and it's not that noticeable.

@@JohnDoe-ip3oq it’s pretty subtle here, I’ll be uploading newer videos that push the rtgi even more with the fps removed so it won’t distract from what I’m trying to show. Sadly I lose a lot of quality while recording the demo playback due to compression, and then I lose even more after uploading to KZfaq. For some reason KZfaq does not accept lossless video containers, but I understand it must be a file size issue, as videos like that can run up to hundreds of Gigabytes.

The fps is jumping around due to the use of reshade which is demanding on most modern gpus, however it’s just here for effect, it is not included in the game download, it is a separate rtgi effect that can be downloaded if anyone enjoys it. Since this game is now open source anyone can mod it as they wish, so even though you are entitled to your opinion of it, mods can and will continue to be made regardless about how anyone feels about it.

Haha it’s new and fun to me, I didn’t get to game as much before, just started playing this a few years ago, I found it fun and challenging to play against the players who have been playing this since 1999, thats like over 20 years of experience against me, it was a nice goal to set to see if I could catch up to them, I mostly play train simulators now and make music to the train videos, it’s a fun hobby and I get to practice my music. These are just all my saved demos I’m uploading. Trying to get more people from this generation interested in playing, as long as players keep coming, old and new, this game will evolve and live on. With that said I still think this game is the most challenging fps out there, everything else seems easy in comparison. Sorry you spent your best years on it, I hope you still got to live your life, I sure did and do.

i think you dont know what the "masses" like. just check counter strike, since 1.6 there wasnt much changes except graphical. CS:GO / CS2 is the same as cs1.6. same maps, same guns, same gameplay. why change something when it works?

playing on two chess boards, while surfing at 200kph, and aim at a bee the second it appear while you are surfing, outdated? i think every modern game is outdated compared to quake.their mecanichs suck, the programming sucks, the netcode sucks, the graphics are all the same, the design and gameplay are the same with nothing new. they are no optimised and use twice the' hardware ressource they need. you just get less and less skills, everything about cosmetics... So yeah if quake is outdated then modern game takes us back to dinausaurs... Pro like rapha could have win a lot of money on overwatch but he decided to play what he likes the most "quake", and now he returns to quake live... So ask yourself some questions. Look at age of empires 2, it's a 1999 game and is more played than rocket league...

No other first person shooter has given me this rich experience, and even when I take a break from playing I always come back to experience it again because there is nothing like it 🔥 I have seen more and more people return to this game and even some new players join, yes it is a harsh learning curve but I hope the new players stay like I did, it took me 3 years just to win a match when I started ☺️
