hiiii may I know how to make the MUX as an "output" for those buttons with led for on/off and fault. I would like to extend my output by using MUX. Thank you!
@Qosmokid
@Qosmokid 2 күн бұрын
@@ferrer9609 Hello, you cannot use an output MUX by itself to light up LEDs. You need to also use an LED Driver like my favorite the DM13A. I have a video on using those and you can connect the DM13A to an output MUX pin. It gets a little more complicated with those buttons that have LEDs in them so I do plan to make a separate video on them.

Hello, I have already made a video on using LEDs but eventually I will make an updated one. Did you already see this video? kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g76RiKqGl9KcmJs.htmlsi=bPC4RXk0Stcp8LwO To assign it to a specific keyword you just need to go to the aircraft maps and select the function you want just as in the examples I used on that video. I don't own any Airbus airplanes in X-Plane so I can't use that one as a specific example but the procedure is the same. Let me know if this helps or if you need further clarification.

Thank you so much for this video. I am an 80 year old mechanical engineer and find the physical making of the hardware for my Flight Factor A320 Airbus and X-plane 11 relatively easy but getting this hardware to 'talk' to my computer is another matter. With all of your previous videos you help me, and a lot of people, to setup Simvim. Then Simvim changed. I know there is all the information on the Simvim site to explain how to use the new program but I need someone to actually show the basics, i.e. what to click on etc. This you have done brilliantly in the past. I did not know what to do and went to your channel earlier this year thinking you would be on the case but nothing. The last videos on Simvim were several years old and I thought that you have moved on so to speak. I checked in on your channel again just now and you are back. Thank you for what you have said about the new Simvim so far as this has helped me quite a bit. I look forward to your future videos and again thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos.

Excellent comprehensive video!!!! I would like to request another future video. Please check the selection and multiple append Simvim software capability. I have one input mux pin that has 0-9 appended items for that one pin. I also have another input mux with a 10 position rotary switch used as the one selector (#1). The selector (#1) does not just pick and modify the proper selected (0 to 9) item out all the items appended on that pin but all the appended items at the same time. I properly assigned the one selector (#1) and the item number (0-9) per the selector input dropdown list for each item separately. I believe there is a Simvim software problem. I need this capability and I believe many other builders will also. Please provide an example of this capability in a future video. I think I implemented this capability properly per there website.THANK YOU !!

Hi there Jo-lo, yes I will make a video on selectors. I'm a little confused with what you tried to describe though. You mean that when you change the position that the selector is in it changes the function of all the pins on the other 10 position rotary switch? Not just that one position it's supposed to? Or if you could send me your CFG file that has those assignments an also a brief explanation of what you are trying to do with that selector.
@Qosmokid
@Qosmokid Ай бұрын
For some reason I have a feeling you might be using selectors wrong or you might be misunderstanding how they're supposed to work. I've read your message like 10 times already trying to figure out what you are trying to get it to do but I'm still confused. Usually you would use a selector to change the keyword/function that a single push button, toggle switch, encoder, display shows. Are you treating the 10 positions of the rotary switch that's not the selector as 10 separate switches? Because you can't append multiple functions to rotary switches. Sorry JoLo, I am really confused 🤣
@JoLo-vx1nb
@JoLo-vx1nb Ай бұрын
@@Qosmokid I will gladly send you my small config file. Please tell me how to do that. I do not have your e-mail address. I can see why you might be confused based on your response and my description.. The 10 position rotary switch is used as the selector. It selects one of the 10 appended items appended to each one of 5 input mux pins so as to change their control of a particular x-plane's function. What I am trying to accomplish is to use one rotary encoder to change the heading, altitude, nav, com, crs, baro, ( fms, or range for G1000-3) and ( fms or range for G1000-1) a total of 10 items, The rotary switch selects which of these previously mentioned x-plane controls will be influenced by the rotary encoder. The rotary encoder is implemented by push buttons not by an actual rotary encoder. Confusing? ---Probably. I am building a generic cockpit which will serve my needs, THANK YOU for your interest and time.

Hi I used this tool to find Toliss AirbusFBW Datarefs which are not published and are are not picked up by the Dataref Editor. All the Datarefs you show here are integers or floats and I have had no probs in setiing them from an external program. However many of the AirbusFBW datarefs visibie in the DataRef Tool just say 'activate'. Without knowning what activate means internally, it's hard to enter a program value that changes the Dataref state. Do you have any information perhaps?

Hi there, unfortunately I don't own any FBW aircraft so I can't look up some of those datarefs you are talking about. The only weird think I have seen with some datarefs mostly with lights if I remember correctly is that they are arrays. Those are the ones that have a bunch of numbers separated by commas. I don't understand arrays so I couldn't even begin to try to explain them to you ☹

Hey my friend, long time no seen your! welcome back. And yes, simvimx remains the best comparing to other namely mobiflight, as it is easier to connect your switches LEDs and so forth. however I still believe that is lacking somewhere which is making it open source and create external independent app as mobiflight made it, if something has to happen and the website goes down as well, we are all gonna hangup, I have now 4 simulators, connected to simvimx and they are all connected to the old configurator, and guess what, I will have to reprogram everything again to the new one because many of the systems stopped working with the new configurator, and that is pain, a complete good solution would be to make it open source and create an external application like mobiflight to make it much easier

Thank you for these very clear explanations. I will start my connections soon and I found information here that I did not find on the SimVim site (the power of the resistors that you tested in particular)

Thanks, if you watch my other video, "Playing with LEDs" you'll see that pretty much you can use whatever value you want as long as you prevent too much voltage from getting to the LED. Some are way too bright even with the recommended value.,

Hola amigo.
