You can use rain water, filter it and add it to the tank.

Yo Mark I've just acquired a tank of these, I've put in wood, already had lava rock and crushed coral as a base, I've also added some more black lava in top of the coral substrate. Also guava leaf and a small cattapa, I've read also they can be fed veggie based foods, nettle, mulberry, spinach in pellet form, how much do you recommend ? I think I have about 30 or so I've had them 3 weeks and not given them a hard feed yet, would you still feed my amount once a week or leave it longer? Cheers in advance 😊

Beautiful shrimp, Mark! Quick question, do you use any type of fertilizer or liquid fertilizer in your shrimp tanks? I want to make sure my plants get enough nutrients but I also don’t want to harm the shrimp if the nitrates raise too much. Thanks!
@MarksShrimpTanks3 сағат бұрын
I have done in the past but I dont any more, if I see plants yellowing then I just add a small cup of active soil to the back of the tank.

I just bought 20 mixed shrimp from Amazon. They came and died with in a hour. 😢
@MarksShrimpTanks3 сағат бұрын
did you acclimate them or were they in a bad way before that?

Hello Marks, there is no Saltyshrimp Beeshrimp product in my country, but I want to keep carindina shrimp, can I mix chemicals with RO water to do that? And what chemicals do I need?
@MarksShrimpTanks3 сағат бұрын
any gh buffer will do, so thats calcium and magnesium, no carbonates.

A very real video. I appreciate your authenticity. I also stopped having issues when I stoped weekly water changes. I have a major baby boom in every tank that I am just monitoring and doing my RODI top offs. Keep doing your thing!!

I had 8 shrimp and they had babies so now there's a bunch of teen shrimp in my tank I'm worried about genetic diversity with there only being 8 to begin with and I'd say well over 50 now so before they start breeding breeding how do I keep my shrimp healthy while culling which takes out even more genetic diversity? Am I just over thinking it I really want this colony to last as long as I can get them too
@MarksShrimpTanks5 күн бұрын
yes you are over thinking, I was once told to add new genetics every 6 months but I dont know anybody that actually does this.

This may be a silly question but would this also work for Aquariums with fish, not just shrimp tanks?
@MarksShrimpTanks5 күн бұрын
yes for sure, what I would suggest on my own exsperience is to just start a fresh batch each time because it seems to last longer.

Hi Mark. I know this video is not about neocaridina, but I have a question. I am struggling with detritus worms. I have cut down the feeding and was wondering if a bristlenose pleco would help? Cheers James
@MarksShrimpTanks5 күн бұрын
yes for sure they will, that would be a good choice.
