Wish there was a way to do this with a 5.7 and a more modern trans. I would like a boosted LS swapped 1500 that can keep up with supercharged f150s. This truck is real clean and looks great with the blue on blue.

On your OBS ls swap . I see that you used a 454 radiator and Nbs electric fans. How did you bolt the fans down to work. Could you send me some pics of it. When you where explaining the parts needed for the swap only can catch a slight glimpse of those bracket.

Y’all haven’t seen the inside of any egr equipped diesel engines I guess because yours is by far average -Cummins knows the amount of soot buildup that these engines acquire & they can handle it-the engine would have to have zero airflow to not be able to run-my point here is these engines are tough as is any of the big threes diesel’s but removing the soot you can is great & then not dumping even more is greater👍🏼🏁

Would a strategically placed magnet be able to keep the bolt from rolling into the #6 cylinder? At least you could see that the part has failed ( with a dashboard code) and make repairs without losing the complete motor.

My regulator had rivets so did yours always have bolts and nuts?

Did grid heater delete in TN. Installed cord to block heater, used the same $80 part and works first time.

Hell yeah man I'm in the market for a truck to haul a bunch of cars, and I'm dead set on a 1st gen cummins. Ideally it would be exactly like yours, w250, manual, intercooled. Not sure if you looked into it but these things run great on black diesel, and if you get good at making it pretty much costs you nothing.

Dang bro I'm so glad I found your video. I have a 90 k2500 that I was thinking of swapping. I have an LM7 sitting in my garage that I was planning on using on my 74 nova. I've been wanting to get my truck swapped with either the vortec or duramax engine as you mentioned there's not much information for our yearnof trucks. Glad to see that you got this done and I might just hunt down a 4L80E to get her done. By chance do you have any wiring write ups or schematic? Or did you just use what's on LT1Swap?

Thats not a first gen anything. Why do you guys keep saying this? It is the exact same truck since 1972 "ram" naming didn't start till 1981 and there was almost nothing new about it aside from a badge. The Ram-head insignia had been used for decades on dodge trucks before. First gen for D-series trucks is the sweptline dodge from 1960 and that's not even close to "first" First gen dodge is 1930's. What are we erasing history? Is First a new code word for fifth? Almost as bad as OBS Fords "original Body Style" in 1980. What?!?!? Were trucks before this without a body?
