Surprised it works as well as it does with an unheated inlet manifold. Connect some hot water hoses, or better still old timey exhaust heated inlet manifold and cylinder to cylinder distribution (and exhaust emissions) should be improved. Power would be down a little of course.

What application is this designed for; Aviation, stationary engine or road? If road, how do you compensate for not having an accelerator pump for closed to WOT under load? I just cant see how a vacuum TBI can get that initial rich mixture response time.

I weighed @Sport Aircraft Association of Australia counsel from senior tech counsellors and decided it’s worth missing my favourite Oz airshow - Ausfly for a single year to be able to get in line to have Rotec Aerosport top overhaul the 800 hr engine, fit their LCH (Liquid Cooled Heads) and add their high efficiency TBI carby / mixture control to de-risk and increase the efficiency of the plane's next 1000 hours which will involve pan-Australia and Bass-straight crossing missions. Worth the wait and cost! Thanks Paul Cherna & Team Rotec Aerosport!

Back in the 90s you could buy something similar from south Africa you could adjust the timing and a/f ratio in the cab. It was cause of the variation in fuels and altitudes. Worked awesome on Holden 6 ,and sounded better on a datto 6 than the jetronic did.

That mixture could easily be controlled electronically with the aid of an exaust O2 sensor. Too easy.

Now wait a minute.... The R2800 was the wasp engine in the Corsair. It was an 18 jug 4700cc, 2200 hp monster.

A certain car maker has the same problem, except they have an aluminum block & plated cylinder walls .This resulted in the rings scraping the plating off & contaminating the oil. The way I stopped this was to add 5 ounces of %100 synthetic 2 stroke oil to ten imperial gallons of gas . Engine is quieter even when cold & performance feels like 10 more hp ! So coated pistons could be another choice, especially if the oil method proves again this is happening.

Look up 'Line 2 Line' abradable coatings. If the piston is mechanically sound this type of coating works wonders.
