@@AidanKendall-m9c maybe, I never tried spraying on bsfl, they can eat so fast that they're substrate should be way moist enough that spraying shouldn't be needed.

@@MidwestMealworms Thank you for the swift response! I've got a batch feeding on spent grain and there's certainly mold present - I guess I'm also concerned about toxicity (though they seem happy enough 1 week in).

It's a generic model that many manufacturers in China produce. I'm not over the moon with the company I bought from, am looking for different manufactures. I'll post a video on the experience with more info, but if you search "mealworm sifter" on Alibaba you'll be able to find machines with this design.

@@Eric-qs3lr correct. It contains chitin, which is one do the main things it has that other fertilizers don't.

Good thought. At first I'll go with lower cost chest freezers, they are easy to sell once I'm done with them if moving to a walk in is needed.

@@l0gic23 it's on the wish list. I keep my offfice at 64 (lowest a standard a/c will go) and store harvested mealworms there, and it slows pupation. But, could be better, just hasn't risen to the top of the list.

It's come up quite a bit in the last few weeks. Trying to figure out if it's something I want to do or not.

@MidwestMealworms it is? I get 400 8x12" for 40 US at amazon. I wondered if Polyestyrene would actually work better. On mines they will ocasionally get out through the seams so I double bag them

Yours looks like they have double seams reducing the possibility for them to squeeze through them

For a while I couldn't get it locally when I first started, but once I was buying multiple bags at a time the local feed stores were willing to order it in for me. Maybe ask your local feed stores what their minimum order quantity is. Also, check with locally owned bird stores, sometimes they can get wheat bran in their deliveries, and you could trade them mealworms for bran, or just straight sell to each other.

I purposely sell the 3/4" mealworms to help reduce pupation. But, it happens, especially if heat is involved. I tell customers that the pupae has more protein that the larvae, and it proves that I don't use chemicals on my mealworms like other places do to stop pupation.... Reduce the heat, keep them refrigerated for storage and educate your customers about how to keep them cold upon receipt.

@@amirosman6281 could be lesser mealworm, the beetle is smaller and the larvae are "flatter".

I have the large containers on wheels to move them through the aisles, ganrty system would be similar situation...once I have the large container at the trays, what's the dispensing solution out of the container....
