This was truly one of the best series I have heard. So many questions asked and answered. Imu's persistence in not letting Rabbi off the hook on some of these threads was amazing... This video confirms a thought I was just having about the word of God. God's word is not a single word... It is the logos. Another word for logos would be "discourse". Discourse- A formal, lengthy treatment of a subject, either written or spoken. God's word is the whole story of our existence from beginning to end. When I think about this in the context of my own life, I think about my journey to my belief in God. If I were to tell you any detail out of the context of my whole life, you might chalk up my inevitable belief in God to superstition or a lack of intelligence. But if you were walking along with me the whole time, you would be forced to realize the majesty and the glory that brought me to this belief in a reasonable progression. This leads me to believe that reading the Bible out of context is can be very dangerous... It's literally not about the bits and pieces. It's about the story. P.S. I wish I had knowledge of the Hebrew language because it seems like this understanding would only be evident in Hebrew.

We know that there are so many connections every time we open up the scriptures but to see how deep and innertwined everything is just puts me more and more in awe of God's intentions for us. So, basically, idolatry is a desire for control? That's interesting...that means idolatry really doesn't require a pagan god as a focus.

This season was insightful, and I love the faith it takes to see Gods ultimate good even in what seems like a dark situation. You guys should really pick up the Christian new testament, which expounds on some of these topics in incredible ways. Joseph was a foreshadow of Jesus, whom his brothers hated and betrayed, but later is found to be the ruler. The story of Abraham and Isaac’s sacrifice is a foreshadow of God offering up his son Jesus on the cross. The reason we are able to go back to God after death is because Jesus descend into hell, led captivity captive, snatching away the keys of hell from Satan, thus making a way for people to be reconciled back to God.
