This is so weird, but I actually think I was really good childhood friends with Ari - we used to go to Italy when we were like 8 and 10 years old and stay in Desenzano. If that’s her, can you please message to get in touch! I literally just found a letter from her when I was going through old stuff and would love to wish her well!

So is the CRNA monitoring vitals? I used to do conscious sedation back in 2004 & it was only me & the physician & a tech. I administered the sedation & monitored pt. Tech assisted doc with specimen collection. I didn’t know they don’t do it that way anymore. I did bronchoscopy tho not endoscopy.

Covert narcissism and injury to someone’s ego and projection of their insecurities onto others. If you observe long enough you’re able to pick up patterns on group dynamics and the needs people have to have met to make or satisfy their identities and it comes sadly at the price of devaluing, invalidating, villainizing, ostracizing and scapegoating others. It creates a unified bonding between people of a feather who like to gossip, etc. creating in and out group solidarity among the toxic who pride themselves on “knowing” but ultimately its controlling the narrative to preserve themselves, their ideals, views and the group who nods in agreement with them. Their knowing isn’t really knowing it’s tailoring the narrative and the outcomes to suit their needs and feed their self fulfilling prophecies. Makes them appear smarter and intuitive than they actually are. For example if they gang stalk their prey and get them to react unfavorably the it can be as though they knew it all along and their prey was unhinged or had a problem meanwhile the whole time they were passively aggressively bullying that person in many ways directly/indirectly it’s a form of reactive abuse(covert narcissistic practice) in which they make the victim of their bullying look like the problem all along thereby reinforcing the bullies ideology/mindset and empowers their views as being acceptable and correct. You make a valid point confronting individuals to air it out however given patterns of behaviors in people and the possibility of manipulation, gaslighting and blame shifting it would be wise to have a non biased third party (nurse manager etc) involved to mitigate and keep a professional atmosphere. Where later it can’t be alleged this way or that by either party and hopefully come to a complete resolution and a move forward with better communication going forward.

This video was awesome. I learned a lot about what to expect of PACU. I have 29 years of Nursing in almost every specialty except, ICU, CCU. I have been a Postpartum Nurse since 2004 but in between i floated to medical surgical units. Did Home Care Nurse, Rehab, Hospice, Psychiatric etc. Im motivated to go into PACU settings. I was interviewed for a position yesterday 5/17/2024 and praying i will get the position. Im excited. Thank you for your shared knowledge with us. It was fun. Blessings 🌹

It feels like everything is against the nurse. It makes me feel like I don't want any part of this. I mean if I do this, it'll be wrong. If I don't do this, I'll still be wrong. Nurses save lives, and people have the right to criminally charge them (the ones that are honest)??

We live in a culture that uses litigation so freely. The best you can do is do what you know is right, know your hospital policies, and be diligent on your documentation always.

“You’re not perfect” , but they sure make you feel like you gotta be. This is the reason nurses are so scared and become computer nurses instead of actually taking appropriate time with the patients. Definitely a broken world and system. I worked with a nurse once who had the world’s best charting, but her patients suffered. She looked like an amazing nurse on paper.

I'm so glad I watched your video. I have over 20 years of ICU/CVICU experience. I love ICU, but I'm completely burnt out and injured on top (currently on worker's comp) PACU was always in the back of my mind, now a priority in my list of top 5 jobs I'd like to switch to when I'm ready to go back.

What must a nurse do to become a nurse manager? ?
@NursingUncharted
@NursingUncharted 7 ай бұрын
It depends on the need. If you want to be a strong candidate, having an MSN definitely helps. If there are any programs in your organization that are geared towards cultivating leadership, seek those out. Sometimes though, being a leader on your unit can be enough, if there is a desperate need. The best managers come from being bedside nurse leaders because they understand the needs of their nurses better than anyone else.
