Yeah Marth definitely beats Villager. Unlike Lucina, Marth doesn't have to jump as much in this MU because his big old tilts can kill with tipper. I'd argue he is better against Villager than Lucina due to the fact that he can get more reward for not jumping as much (which also means he can avoid getting sniped by Villager's Fair/Bair too much). Tippers are also way easier to land against small and slow characters like Villager, and him being lightweight means tipper obliterates him. Marth wins +1 but like you said, a careless, jumpy Marcina will simply die anyway.

I'm a moron online elite smash villager for context. All I want is nair and hit people with tree the whole match as my dumb bad playstyle. I didn't realize Steve was definitely the best character in the game because I'd just counter camp them and pocket their garbage since he came out. I haven't played a top Steve but it feels winning online with tree camping. They're definitely winning if they get in though. You've just gotta be twice as lame as them, I don't think it really even needs hard reads to beat them. Kazuya feels +1. Little Mac is +2 if both players know the matchup and skill is even. His recovery and lack of aerials make up for his great ground game sometimes. Not when a slingshot or nair can be a touch of death. His recovery isn't that bad but if you know the routes he's sometimes forced to take then he can be forced into multiple 50/50s where he dies if he's wrong.

really like the series, I learn a lot even as an Aegis main. Thinking about "what does my character want" and the idea of not being predictable to cover lower level mistakes on autopilot are really good things to think about
