I could immediately tell this video was going to be good based on the sheer positivity in the beginning & I could tell that you are a woman of faith! God bless your family!

Aw, thanks! Yep, God's gotta be at the center or it all falls apart for sure. (Still feels crazy, but His grace is always there.)

So no tablets during the week?
@SolutionsforSimplicity6 күн бұрын
During the school year, no. We've tried to keep tablet time to Friday night and Saturday, and even then they have to have finished their checklist of chores & things before they can play. Don't get me wrong...we're far from perfect at enforcing this all the time, especially on days school is closed or someone is sick. We've also relaxed a little bit during the summer but during the school year there's so little time between school, homework, activities, and all the basic stuff that there's not much left over. How do you do things in your family?

I use the pilot clicker erasable pens and love it especially since I can get refills for them. Also, any paper you use these pens on and then the paper is left in the heat the ink will disappear. Friction (heat) from the erasing is what makes the ink disappear. So don't leave your paperwork in a hot car! That is what happened to a man I spoke with at Office Depot.

Wow - thank you. I never knew that! Definitely something to be careful of.

I just found your channel! I am a Catholic mom with 5 kids (soon to be 6), and I’m a professor by day. Work family life balance is such a challenge. You make me feel slightly less like a crazy person! Keep up the good work.

Absolutely love how much we have in common! I'm Catholic, too. And being a Catholic working mom of many kids is a whole thing, isn't it? I totally get it. Can't wait to connect more!

If every parent would look into doing what you are doing it would solve a lot of problems in the house because it would do more to encourage kids to help out in the house and also the little allowance incentive can be used to teach kids into earning things that they want instead of having to come to mom and dad when they see something that they become attracted to like it is the best thing in life to them. I don't understand why there are parents who cannot see the reason to do this type of thing and meanwhile they are the ones having to deal with the whiny kids when the kids see something that they want and they have to go to mom and dad to get it and they say no and you know the rest of the story. Big ups to you !!

Hi Amber, I loved this video and your focus on reward systems as behavior enhancement mechanisms to help achieve the more purposeful and productive life you adeptly articulated. Given your expertise and interest in chore charts, I thought you'd be interested in my new product: My Virtuous Quest. It's a parenting tool/kids game that helps kids be their best and happiest selves by earning badges and "Mystery Adventures" when they internalize and demonstrate core virtues like Compassion, Generosity and Perseverance. The video on our website is a great primer, but let me know if you have any questions, sample requests, etc.!

Your tips are great but the music you chose for this video was so loud and distracting it was hard to watch this or focus on what you were saying. The music is completely unnecessary.

I have one notebook to write down to do’s. I love one that I found which splits work and personal to do’s. I use outlook at work and am able to have two electronic calendars on one screen. One for work where I time block so others can see when I’m not available for meetings. The other calendar is color coded for my family. I send them invites for appointments and activities. I’ve struggled using hard copy planners because I hate writing schedules down in multiple places. But I like to keep a separate ‘notebook’ for tracking, gratitude, meal planning, brain dumping, goal planning, etc. I’m constantly changing how to best do this. It’s got to be easy and efficient.
