I remember the Beats logo fashion trend years ago (like 12 years ago haha). I think it's more AirPods now or that headphones are not a fashion statement in general anymore bc people shifted more to in-ears. After some weird experience with the Bose SoundLink Flex and returning it, I will buy the Beats Pill. Thanks for the review! Maybe they change the power button problem via an update.

G85 hasn't been announced for Aus locally just yet, but based on international models, the G85 will have a slightly bigger screen, start at Android 14 (not clear what updates it'll get) and slight style redesign. May lack proper IP-rated water resistance (not that this is high on the G84, but it's at least stated) on the G85.

No water resistance is kind of a deal breaker for me. Rains too much and too often for me to go without it lol, especially at that price point. Also a personal thing, but I don't like stem design buds. Whenever I work outside in bush, the stems get caught in branches and brush.

The S20 FE 5G battery life was very decent and abive average. The S21 FE battery life was rather poor as it drains quick. My concern is if i was to buy the S23 FE w/ Exynos (as this is the one available hete in the UK) it might not even last for a full day with SOT of 4-5 hours only. Any Thoughts & comments?

For what it's worth (battery usage is obviously variable, and the S20 FE model we got here in Aus was a Snapdragon), I got roughly the same battery endurance from S20 FE and S21 FE and better results with the S23 FE I tested. It should be good for most people for a day's usage.

I'd call it moderately loud at maximum; a quick ad-hoc, app-based check of volume near the 2660 Flip shows rough volume at around 80dB or thereabouts. One option if your father uses a hearing aid and it's Bluetooth compatible would be to pair to the phone as it also supports Bluetooth (though not all hearing aids do).

I will get onto that -- though hot shower water is going to be even worse for ongoing water resistance than room temperature water. Also, I won't be filming that -- some things cannot be unseen...

I think the target audience of people who have not adapted to smartphones yet is by now 70+ yo and will prefer something with big buttons and big fonts. Even my smartphone-sceptic father finally has given in mmainly because an android phone lets him set a large font he can read without glasses.

when you first stick them you should probably press the magnets down for 5-10 seconds, that's standard for any adhesive to let it form a bond, instead of just sort of setting them on the back and expecting them to stick with no pressure

That's a fair call, and to be honest I was doing the filming this way so that it didn't have a big gap while I pressed down on them -- but I had done so when first installing them (as noted in the video this wasn't their first adhesion) and the problem remained. Realistically over time it's *always* going to be a problem, because removing the metal plates on the display is going to pull at the magnets, and the weakest point of connection will be where it fails first -- and that's always going to be the adhesive anyway.

Believe it's stated for some markets at IP54, which isn't much -- but in this price bracket getting any really durable water resistance is super rare.

So, the closest I've gotten to the A25 was testing the A35 (Samsung can be a tad difficult to get lower-tier phones out of, though I do try to review all phones equally and on their merits, such is life): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eJpkq5aClpOog5c.html A25 does have the upgrades going for it, though based purely on specs, the added RAM in the G84 would be nice to have. The A25 started from a higher price point though, so if you're getting them at price parity that's a good discount on the A25... and a sign that the G84 should probably have dropped in price a little by now!

I had the version 1 galaxy watch and I am still wearing the version 3 galaxy watch. Neither of these two watches counts flights of stairs well. Does The Galaxy Watch 7 count flights of stairs properly?

Only the classic watches have the rotating bezel. The watch 5 pro didn't have it either. They are still selling the watch 6 classic. If they put it in both watches there is no way people would buy the 6

The Galaxy Watch Ultra is a great watch. If you do some research, you will know that 90% of the watch design is based on the Samsung Gear Sport, and the other 10% is the Apple Watch Ultra. I have had both the watch and the Fold 6 since 24 July 2024, and the battery life for both items has improved. The Fold 6 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra are my personal devices, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max is my work device along with the Apple Watch Ultra 2 that I was luck to get my manager to purchase. So I can say both Apple and Samsung are on top of the smartphone game. So, no matter what phone and watch you have, you have the dest device for the platform.

The version I tested with was the 6GB variant, so I can't entirely comment on performance differences without an 8GB model to test with -- but you can rarely go wrong with more RAM on an Android device, unless you're a very light app user or if there's a serious price premium in play.

I know people talk about the camera shouldn't be great on cheap phones. The problem is I have a 5 megapixel camera on my phone from 2009 and it produces fantastic photos - relatively speaking of course, but far ahead of a phone like this. It's crazy that 15 years later, the basic level of a phone can't reach at least that passable level of photo quality.

I think the original Nokia 3210 was my first mobile phone too. I am looking forward to HMD's new upcoming Crest and Crest Max models. I do hope they get released here as they actually have decent specs this time for a budget smartphone. I do hope you review the Crest or Crest Max. I think it is due to come out next month overseas. Not sure when it will release in Australia though.

Generally yes -- about the only issue that you might hit (which might not be as big an issue for you, tastes and needs vary) is that there's no optical zoom lens on the Razr 40 compared to the S20 FE.

@Tha-King-Arthur ya. I get all of that. I had an Ultra for 3 days and had to return it. The back of the watch gave my wrist a bad rash. Plus I did 3 walks with it when I had it. I do the same walk everyday and my distance and heart rate on the ultra was identical to what I get everyday on my 6 classic. 6.32 miles. That's why I'm fine keeping my classic. Ya it's a bummer I had to return the ultra I bought but it was actually alittle bit of a relief because I really didn't like not having the rotating bezel. The digital bezel sucks. Plus I just did a 2 hour walk tracking with my 6 classic and I went from 100% battery to 88% battery. 12% drop in 2 hours. Just saying.

Great hair style (I have similar). Extremely nice review, liked it much. After this I'll buy one as I have decided never to have Samsung or iPhone (what really remains??) What worries me most is the battery life, 4000 mAh is not much, but We'll see. Greetings from Finland!
