you do good work, you could make a dresser out of that bike, be good for cross country riding, full saddle bags and trunk, windshield on the front, all the lights.

The skills you exhibit are generally unobtainable in the hum drum everyday world and are generally acquired through mixing years of training on many car, bike & machinery types. To be cherished forever. Awesome work!. Who did the Red RIder drawing? You? There's another skill. 🤩😁 Rock on chook. 8^)

You're an artist and a mechanic. I assume you get that from your dad. Love the black pipes! Way easier to keep nice. Just repaint them each winter. Last bike I had with black pipes was my 1983 Willie G. Special. I really miss that bike.

never found a set of HD pipes OE or aftermarket that fit. Huge respect to Reds pop; neat work. ps none of those red/yellow wiring connectors, all stripped and black shrink wrapped. The devil's in the detail ; like a boss.

Very nice work. Was that a sardine can I saw in the carburetor rebuild section? Do you have any information on that seat on your dad's bike? I'd like to get one like that for my flh. Also thank you for showing me that little trick with the feeler guage on the starter. I'll definitely be making that modification on both of my shovels. Congratulations on a job well done on your dad's bike. I'm sure his smile was just as big when his bike fired up for the first time after all of that work you guys put into it. 😊

Yes a Master cut off switch is a very good idea. A stuck solenoid can do more than burn up a battery. It can melt battery cables witch can start a fire or and melt the batteries which can start a fire. The Murphey Diesel Engine in my crane uses a Delco 50 MT Starter. It has a manual lever you pull on at the starter as opposed to any Solenoids. I don't know what a 50 MT weighs , but a much smaller 40 MT weighs 75 pounds. I had a Generator rebuilt and I installed a new Regulator. the points in the Regulator stuck and I didn't know it. It drained two brand new 8D batteries totally died and reined them The batter cables ect go so hot they didn't look very good. Thus I had to buy two new batteries that way back when were $130.00 each well over $200 each today .. I had to pay another $500.00 to have the generator rebuilt again and I had to buy a new external Regulator. THEN I INSTALLED A MASTER CUT OFF SWITCH TOO! I think it is a Cole Hersey rated at 1,800 amps .. which is what you need to start trucks and loaders ect.

Harley Davidson used to have a lot of Reliability Problems because of a poor wiring Job. HD was the last brand to use weatherproof sockets like Automotive has used for many years such as Weather Pak Connectors ect. I think Weather Pak is made by GM Delphi. The plugs are rather bulky for motorcycles. I wired a whole FWD Truck. Stock it had only 16 GA wiring. I had a simple hand crimper took and dipped the bare copper wire in Dialectric grease. A few years later I had a lot of electrical issues.. my crimps were not tight enough . I have since got a much better crimper. It's best to solder but that takes a lot of time. I mostly just solder 00 battery cable wires for trucks, loaders and cranes ect. I crimp first than put the terminal upside down in the bench vise and solder it too .

I was going to suggest to just grind down the welds a little to make them look nicer, looks like you figured that out. I have two MIG welders. One has 0.045 wire and CO2 gas for welding things like loader and crane buckets and one that has 0.030 wire and 75% Argon and 25% C02 for welding thin stuff and having nicer looking welds. I also have straight Argon for Stainless ect. I used to pay $10.00 for 50# of C02. C02 goes liquid at about 900 PSI thus you get a huge volume of Liquid and a tank lasts forever. where as if you have 2200 PSI of gas in a tank it does not last very long because it's just compressed gas.

Looks great guys you and your dad should definitely be pleased with how she’s turning out. I have a cheap set of drag pipes I’ve been wanting to make a 2 into 1 system with a muffler. So I don’t bother my neighbors early on weekend mornings. My wife called me a sissy and told me they aren’t worried about us when they start cutting the grass at 8:00 am on Saturday mornings. Actually she didn’t call me a sissy it was something else but I wanted to be respectful. You guys take care and ride safe.

Dearest -Looks like a beautiful bike - I love the pipe work, but simple question The pipe on the forward cylinder looks like it will heat up your crankcase , and also the rear pipe looks like it will heat up your drive train in both cases you will burn more engine and transmission oil(s)? - I do not know your engine technology, but am I incorrect? btw: I had rebuilt Babes, and then Beauty's carbs recently. Babe takes off like a Rocket. Beauty should be on par if not faster as having open headers and Babe has the original stock exhaust. Both use pods, same jets and basically the same engines - Beautiful's accelerator pump does not appear to deliver as needed under throttle demand - so I figure Ill just take the carbs out once again and replace its diaphragm and spring which I have extra's - just another 6-8 hours of tinkering -
