Hey Dec,quick question for you...would really appreciate help if you could? There is a wiring harness that runs on top of that engine and a plug that comes off on the middle right side,the plug seems to sit around the front of the fuel filter housing and goes down to the left side front of the egr cooler,do you know what it goes to? Its just a little short wire and plug on the right of the wiring harness and only one in the middle on top of the fuel rail. Ive just done the waterpump and fuel filter housing on this and lost to where this plug goes unless it doesnt on some of these engines?

All very well on a normal Sprinter but. On my Hymer A-class motorhome, I have to work through a 8inch letter box that require the air box to be broken down to get out. I do not want to work on it after just having to change the number one exhaust sensor. I am not impressed with the setup and fully understand why the Main Dealer has all their fitters go sick suddenly if a motorhome turns up.😊. The V6 is a doddle though right at the front but mine is a 2.1.

Good Engines, maybe, it's just a shame they have to bolt so much c**p onto it to make it work, what an absolute PITA to work on . . . Replacing the Fuel Filter Housing on my Daughter's 2013 at the moment, Coolant Leak due to a damaged Inner Lip where it Bolts to the Manifold. Thank f**k she's selling it . . . as soon as I've sorted it.

You should have just cleaned it first. Use an iron fallout on it too. Use the ez wheel brushes and it would have been done in half the time

It was a bit past that. Already used purple rain on it and acid wheel cleaner before hand. Had years maybe even from new of not being cleaned

your videos are not SEO-friendly. you must do video SEO to get good results. SEO increases views, If you can increase the views, you will be able to advance your channel a lot. what is the benefit of making a video so hard? If views, likes, subscribers are not? So I say, first organize the channel nicely, SEO the videos and then release the videos, then you will get good results. This will benefit you a lot, you will be able to improve your channel with very little cost SEO.

Would you give the live data with the new MAF sensor? I think I have the same issue with my disco 4. MAF sensor bank 1 is almost static when you rev the engine until 2700 rpm. No error codes though

I have just performed this job for the first time and got stuck on the two rear bolts, so I came on here and watched your video. Why on earth have you taken SO much off unnecessarily? You don’t need to take anything off the top of the engine at all, only the blower fan intake cover needs to be removed AND if you are going to do a how to video, don’t start it halfway through the job and then say, “ oh, this part I’ve already taken off came from here and here etc.”

I dont suppose you can remember if there was a gasket between the egr and where it bolts to the manifold (2 bolts at the back). I've just done this job on my van and now it is leaking from where the 2 bolts at the back join but I couldn't see or find a gasket there

Yes, every connection has a gasket of some sort between the parts, usually a compression type metal gasket. You could reuse the old one but since it’s an arse of a job it’s best to go new. Your gasket probably fell down the back of the engine, maybe.

@@Britishdaddy Are you talking about the transition tube? The metal tube that bolts on to the side of the valve and meets with the charge air pipe - which connects to the manifold. If yes, there is a gasket required on the EGR side. Also make sure all your bolts are equally tightened. Goodluck

Does anyone know of another video or diagram that shows exactly what needs undoing at the rear? What screws, plugs etc. I’m blind on mine, I don’t have an air filter there but a brake servo or whatever right in my way.

Brake servo? What country are you in? It’s bloody hard to describe, you really have to feel for them first then blindly attach two extensions with a flexible adapter in between them to get any sort of access to the tiny E10 bolts. You should be able to stand on a box and get your hand over the back of the engine to feel the heads of the bolts.

You will need to find them with your hands. Follow the rear braket and you will feel the heads

Good video but just one small correction, that middle valve is the bypass valve, the egr is at the far end. Bypass valve can leak at the top causing p0101* MAF errors

Furthermore it’s sequential turbos. Bi-Turbo mode kicks in at around 2700rpm. Before that the secondary turbo (driver side in UK) let’s exhaust gas travel through exhaust bypass to primary turbo. This valve closes when 2700rpm hit then both turbos kick in turns from mono turbo to bi-turbo.

I’m having trouble finding the right bolts to undo at the back to take it off , I’m getting a p2bac deactivated Egr it’s really annoying I’ve changed sensors and it worker London to Bolton with way better mpg and power then happened again , I recon it damaged the sensor
