Okay, but now what do you do with all those mice you caught?
@kerrihiggins21067 сағат бұрын
We have one of those rotating attachments and use peanut butter with some nuts mixed in the lure and they fall down in the bucket... Which we fill with a few inches of water. We dump them in the woods behind our house and the wild animals (coyotes, racoons, raptors, stray cats, etc) come and take them. We've even caught some chipmunks this way and it worked really well!! I feel much better doing it this way and not using any poison, so if an animal picks a dead rodent up, they aren't then ingesting the poison too... Or giving it to their young!

Then put some oil around the edges inside so they can't accidentally jump out.

Overflow?
@therealprtrhsenteal11 сағат бұрын
Affirmative. I shut the inflow in the winter and I use the overflow as a signal of when to water the trees in the summer.

AND then what do you do.. If you are doing this to be humane, then you release @ NIGHT (so they can see things better) / Close to where you are but not in your yard (so they can survive, but not come back where you are - and not at another persons house

And what are you doing with the mice you catch? If you're letting they go they just come back.
@phoglundКүн бұрын
This does work. We did a variation of this with a plastic storage bin in a shed. The container just has to be deeper than the mice can leap out of.

Fill half full with water and some bird seed place next to something that chipmunks climb on then they can get in and can't get out or give them a ramp to climb on. They drown.

This was the exact video I was thinking about as I just learned about biochar yesterday and found it it's really just charcoal before you inoculate it. I am an avid brisket smoker and for whatever crazy reason I want to self supply every part of my meal from raising the cow, making the charcoal, growing veggies for sides, etc.

Is this, like, a farm problem? I usually only see these sorts of traps used in developing nations because field mice aren’t as much of a problem in populated areas of the US.
