I wish the prince had a bigger role. He’s such an interesting character to explore. Maybe they’ll use this idea in the live action remake. Also I love the new Snow White podcast episodes.

Moral of the story: Don’t say no to marrying the Evil Queen 😬 The orginal version of the Snow White ride in Disneyland was called “Snow White and Her Adventures” and featured a talking skeleton in a dungeon that said, “Go back! Go back!” (Thats the reddish-colored one I showed here). When it became Snow White’s Scary Adventures (like in the clips I featured from Disneyland Paris) there were more skeletons in the dungeon. Since it became Snow White’s Enchanted Wish in 2021, the dungeon scene is a lot less scary and that section of the ride focuses more on potions than skeletons. I mention that Sleeping Beauty came a few years later, but it was actually more like decades later, in 1959. Because Walt Disney was so busy with Disneyland while this movie was in production, it struggled with its story development. Many pieces of its storyline are borrowed from deleted scenes from previous films, like the Dancing on a Cloud sequence (scrapped from both Snow White and Cinderella), and the Prince in the dungeon scene from Snow White.

Clarence Nash voiced Donald Duck’s, “Donald’s Double Trouble (1946),” where Donald meets a duck who looks exactly like him but speaks eloquently (and clearly) whom he convinces to date Daisy on Donald’s behalf. When he agrees, Donald says, “Thank you!” three times in a row.

I don’t get it, what was the proposed camera obscura in the castle about..?
@disneycicerone
@disneycicerone 22 сағат бұрын
They looked into the camera obscura in Santa Monica, wanting to put a similar one in the tower of the castle, but they realize there wouldn’t be enough light to make it work in that location so they scrapped the idea. Then they made the tower forced perspective instead, so nobody could go in it now. 😂

This is the most enjoyable episode! I love your deep dives. You are the E Ticket Magazine of KZfaq. 😊 The Snow White ride of the ‘70s was my favorite, but also the most frustrating with no Snow White in site. I think my favorite feature of those dark rides were the murals at the entrance, and Snow White was the most beautiful. Thanks for the great content ~ I appreciate so much the work you put into it!

I love seeing the concept art with the whole layout of Disney rides. Before Harry Potter ride and Galaxy's Edge I got a little obsessed with finding leaked layouts and concepts online. Kind of a dumb but fun hobby. I do need to stop with the self-spoiling though. Started with Half Blood Prince film and the habit won't die.

Someone in the cast once told me when California adventure was being built that it was meant to have a wave maker in the lake. Unfortunately it caused issues and flooded the Ferris wheel area by making them too big.

This is kind of like a “Disney fact junk drawer” for all of the obscure bits of knowledge floating around in my head 😂 Some of it I have talked about before and some have been on my list forever because I doubt anyone will care but me 🙈 Not sure if I should make this a series or not 🤷‍♀️ If you made it all the way to the end without quitting (and even enjoyed it), congratulations, you’re one of us now (Disnerd Distorians unite! 🙌) As for the Seb Morey/Bob Mattey window mystery, I’ve been researching and asking around about this for a long time (credit to Disney History Institute for their initial work on this). Even more confounding is it started as Bob Mattey, then changed to Seb Morey, then change back to Bob Mattey. Bob made many of the animatronic animals in the park (like the Jungle Cruise) and Sebastian Moreno worked as decorating supervisor in the parks. If anyone knows exactly why the window was changed (twice), I would love to know. As it is now, no one seems to be able to answer that question.

It makes more sense if they're unrelated, but I'd like to imagine a cast member with a poor sense of judgement loading up a canoe with bottles of rum like a pirate of the Caribbean had left the ride to try to go to Tom Sawyer Island, taking a commercial toaster and PC tower, but that sank it. But probably it was just people hiding their mistakes in the Rivers of America. "Drinking on the job? Not at all, Mr. Disney. I was just putting some fish in the river for the birds."

Nowadays, it seems like a miracle that the "heart of a pig" detail was kept in the Disney version. They did tone the movie down compared to the original Brothers Grimm version, but nowadays it would probably be even more sanitized.
