Hi Lori, just watched this tutorial and love it. I have a serger but don’t think it has any different stitches i.e for the finished edge so guess I will just add normal binding. Great quilt as you go method without having to use joining strips. I have a couple of jelly rolls so can’t wait to try this. Will make for my young granddaughter ❤Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful skills :)

Why are you cutting you extra off your strips from both sides why not shift it to one side or the other and have a large strip left to use in another project. It’s already quilted and batted. I don’t understand the waste

I’ve wondered for years as a quilter why I’d need a serger - found your video and now I know! Just purchased a Baby Lock Acclaim serger yesterday! I can’t wait to do binding this way! I’ll add a bit of Fray Check on the cut thread tails tho. Thank you!

How did you get the threads in the ditch on the front? Is the cloth pulled down to the edge of the serged edge, then sew in 1/4th inch over?

I fold the binding over serged edge snuggly then to front. I topstitch binding from front of quilt with my sewing machine. :)

Hello! I came across your post in trying to figuring out how best to do binding and after trying other methods, I did yours and it came out just right! The other methods just didn't work for me and it was not only frustrating but devastating as after all that work on the piecing and quilting, it can be "ruined" when the binding method fails and falls short. So thankful for your simple and encouraging video. You saved me!! Thanks again.

Thank you for a great tutorial. Love your coasters. I live in Australia& I have the Luminaire XP3. I have noticed that the Solaris is the same as My Design Center in my machine. So I can do this. To Add the satin stitch to last circle do I go to the satin outline to have a finished edge? Thank you again for a great tutorial. Love it.

This set of videos has been a fabulous help. I've taken classes and just not comprehended the whole icon concepts. but with the videos you have given me the start/stop/go back and do it again feature, your a fabulous teacher. Thank You! I went straight and designed/quilted my first piece, it turned out beautiful. I'm extremely happy with my new skill! I purchased my Solaris Visionary 6-8 months ago. With this series I am just now beginning to learn how to optimize the machine and what its created to do for me. My Solaris is exactly like your and that makes it even better. Now to master my Destiny II.
