The PDGA’s efforts to test male-to-female trans athletes seems to be providing some equity to the solution. Ryan still competes in FPO but hasn’t been racking up the wins as much as before, and it’s apparent that her body composition has changed significantly to become more womanly since that was enacted.

Professional disc golf gets more respect as a sport in Europe, plain and simple. And while I enjoy Terry & Doss, EsaPekkaTupula is my favorite dg commentator...able to do what he does in a 2nd language is beyond impressive.

I’m not sure how fair it is to judge the very few international tournaments versus regular DGPT schedule. Of course, the Euro courses/events are going to be nice. They are basically all majors because they are all majorly important to draw eyes from US audiences. If it looked like every other tournament it wouldn’t be special. If every US event was treated like a major then the US would look just as good as the Euro tournaments.

It's a real shame you guys can't (or rather, "don't") use proper disc golf coverage in your videos. What we get is the excuse for coverage served up by DGN, at 480p30 if we're lucky. This means you only ever produce a podcast as far as I'm concerned. Your content is audio only, as the video side is unwatchable rubbish, that Marty McFly would have been embarrassed to publish in 2012. And yet, here we are... Avoiding the elephant in the room: DGN destroying the quality of disc golf coverage. Try talking about that every video. Because it is the biggest issue in disc golf today, and will remain so for the foreseeable future.

In North America, the US in particular, money is the only thing that matters. Whereas in most European countries, there’s a more socialist and peaceful mindset. That’s why the US is so far behind the rest of the world in many things- disc golf events included. That said, all rich people can go to h***!

I think price point has something to do with it as well. Disc Golf having a low entry point in the US is great, but it allows for a different market. Disc Golf being quite a bit more expensive on the other side of the pond, can lead to a different type of market who would take the game more seriously due to more money being invested. You would have to have more money to be able to participate and the perception of the type of people who play the sport could be different and possibly more professional.

Maybe it's more cultural. America likes fast and aggressive sports. Likely will never be embraced by the ball golf crowd. Disc golf seems to appeal more to scandanavian easygoing vibe.

Getting mad that Gannon got a time violation warning? Do you also get mad at the official when your favorite football player goes out of bounds on the game winning drive and they stop play? No. Rules have to be enforced in every circumstance of the round. Even when it's a "clutch moment". Make your shot in the allotted time. Every player knows how long they get to make their shots. There is no mystery involved. Same as the shot clock in basketball. Pace of play. You can't have people taking their sweet time to throw just because it's an "important shot". Evert throw is just as important as the others. A 6 on the first hole is the same as a 6 on the last. 6 strokes.

It was a big spectacle and show but the camera angles.. omg. Felt like they never touched a camera before and didn't know the settings. The camera when the players showed up with smoke and a big picture of them, all white. Couldn´t even see the pictures clearly. The camera from the tee with the distance competition, all black and could barely see the players. Even my girlfriend said it sucked and here I am saying this is a professional production and I pay for it XD

Reasonable time to approach your lie is quite clear and simple. Walk fairly slow to a next thrower's lie to the next thrower's lie and that is reasonable time. In difficult situations, officials don't usually time at all and I have never done it. What else can there be? 1 minute from previous throw? There can be big steps or big downhill to the next lie and it takes two minutes to walk there. 2 minutes? If lies are next to each other, one person has 2 minutes to spend before throw needs to be done. That is not fair if someone has 15 seconds and one has 2 minutes. 30 seconds from the time when player comes to the lie? Then player can spend 2 hours before going to the lie. Can go for dinner or take a nap. PDGA listens to suggestions and anyone can propose better options. I have never heard anyone coming up with a better solution how to time it.

Officials actually did care about the pace of play during other rounds too. On a moving day both Gannon and Hjalte (on same group) received a warning for time violation. Group behind them needed to wait nearly 15 minutes in tee of hole 12 because of the slow play. In my opinion those warnings were necessary to keep the game going, since slow play had effect on multiple other groups.

Any professional complaining about rules being enforced is a truly pathetic person, and a real loser. Professionals accept rulings by officials. Period. That's one of the definitions of being professional. And... the very essence of disc golf is as a self-refereed sport. Changing that would absolutely ruin it. Because it's what sets disc golf apart from almost all other sports. And trying to force disc golf into a hideous place where tournament officials (not players) are constantly blowing whistles on players would be extremely detrimental to disc golf. It's a feature of the sport, AND NOT A BUG! So, please do your absolute best to get over it, because it's not going to change. Edit: I should say that even though I often strongly disagree with what you guys say, I always upvote your videos.
