possibly a dumb question, but with power off on a flow controller can I still pull a vacuum across the compenent for leak testing both the inlet and outlet connections? im helium leak testing a gas panel with MFC's installed but with the panel removed and no power...thx in advance

Dear Sir, I am Sunku Prasad, a PhD student from IIT Guwahati, India, working in the area of high temperature thermal energy storage system. I want to know whether it is possible to design a thermal mass flow meter for measuring mass flow rate of molten salt. the molten salt is flowing in the pipe at a temperature of 400°C. Thanks for the question, Stephen! Hot taps are required to remove insertion probes from process lines WITHOUT shutting down the process. The insertion probes are drawn up past an isolation valve, then that valve is shut and the probe removed from the pipe for cleaning or repair/recalibration as required. A retractor can make this removal process easier, especially when there is a high pressure in the pipe. -Scott Rouse

What about 50 Series MFCs that has two DB9 connectors. What is 2nd connector for?

ALI MIRZA The two connectors on the 50-series are parallel. Either or both can be used. For instance, you could plug in power to one connector, and signal into the other. If you have any other questions, please let us know! -Jim Oswald
