Pretty difficult to believe as after two years Ukraine by itself is still standing despite the much smaller military, economy and population. It would be like the US invading Mexico and only managing to capture areas along the border after two years. Or like China invading Vietnam and failing (that actually happened already in the 1979)

It’s fair because both the US and Russia had years to prepare. Before February all Ukraine received were small arms, rocket launchers and armored cars. It’s only after Russia retreated did the west go “ok, so now we know Ukraine won’t collapse tomorrow, so they are worth the investment”

@@Yazan.alazzawi that was after 2022 and Russia doesn’t use us dollars, it uses roubles. You can buy a lot more stuff for the same us dollar amount in Russia than you can in the US. Regardless, they had at least 10 years to prepare. If you can’t defeat a neighboring country with a much smaller army and only a quarter of the population, then you shouldn’t invade. Coping and excuses mean nothing and help no one.

Iraq actually received billions of dollars worth of military aid from the US, USSR, France and many others during the Iran-Iraq war. A lot of the equipment was top notch back then and is still being used by Russia and Ukraine today. Iraq still lost though, because Saddam was an incompetent buffoon.
