That might be Roy Hargrove, but that's Clark Terry. No offence, but Clark Terry was next level.

Ja ja ja …. I never heard Chet Baker play below low F# and above High C so amazingly in a performance. I had to do a double take! The only other cat I heard do that is Arturo Sandoval……I head Arturo at Mackey Auditorium in Boulder Colorado do it…..now I am inspired to get my chops together! In the LOW Register!

In my opinion this man actually started it all as far as hammond organ jazz is concerned because Jimmy Smith saw him play and then switched from playing piano to primarily playing hammond organ. I carry the torch now.

Hammond P100 organ (European version of the Porta-B), a portable L100 spinet and wild padded Kustom amps and speakers - typical for th 1970´s....

I would have liked to hear these guys without time constraints as this was probably a gig done for a TV show and they only were given the time shown here. These guys could really play! So this was European jazz circa 1962? Really good!

Tangerine was written by Victor Scherzinger for a 1942 US movie, "The Fleet's In." Johnny Mercer wrote the lyrics, to evoke a Latina beauty and give US wartime audiences an escape from the grim realites of the time. Tangerine, she is all they claim With her eyes of night and lips as bright as flame Tangerine, when she dances by Senoritas stare and caballeros sigh And I've seen toasts to Tangerine Raised in every bar across the Argentine Yes, she has them all on the run But her heart belongs to just one Her heart belongs to Tangerine.

Such a beautiful tune. Gabriel Yared, a Lebanese-French composer famous for his scoring of music for the French and American cinema, conposed this one for a 2000 movie of the same name, that was panned by critics but succeeded at the box office. Yared also scored the wonderful French movie, Betty Blue. He won an Ancademy Award for his score of The English Patient.

Wonderful to see this line-up. Scott Hamilton seems to go from strength to strength, and his sixties has been his most prolific decad for recording - with a large output arising from his involvement with Joan Chamorro's wonderful St Andreu school in Barcelona, and his production line of new talent. Reine de Graaf is simply a legend of European jazz. I'm looking forward to seeing Scott play in Londonnext week, but meanwhile, it's good to have found this recent show.
