I JUST bought one from a dealer on Amazon and the knife action is so stiff you can’t flick it open or close in one motion or with one hand.

@@jaytay7989 disassembled, polished the surface on the lock that contacts the blade, tuned screws a bit and in the end the lock stick was almost gone

@@michaelfoster8660 I don’t wanna leave my fingerprints on the knife, especially when it’s dlc or like that. It looks so gross Plus nails, some might be dirty etc, I wouldn’t want to see that on a video

It's basic dagger grind, not a chisel one sorry. Microtech doesn't to chisel grinds at least on their production models

I finally got one and love mine. Great action but a good amount of blade play when deployed. $600 with tax is pretty steep, not sure why it costs so much more than an ultratech?

The Scarab has always been like the top OTF in Microtech's lineup. Microtech managed to keep the prices the same or even lower with these new releases, it's a hefty sum nonetheless, but still, great to see that.

With mine - the initial detent is so firm. It is impossible to flick open with one finger. Do you think this will break in? Or should I return it because it is faulty?

Mine definitely had a strong detent, however it opened hard with my thumb. It’s very sensitive to lock bar pressure, I had adjusted my fingers position several times before I figured how to place them properly Try also reverse flicking, if it’s all right, then you don’t need to worry

I can't tell you how pleased and relieved I am that you posted this video of your Scarab II Gen. III! I purchased one last week and received it last Friday (02/02/2024). As I familiarized myself with my new Microtech, I noticed small differences between my new Scarab and others I'd seen on KZfaq and on many different websites. The thing that concerned me most (almost to the point of worrying that I'd received a counterfeit) was the absence of a production date or any other information on the pocket clip. Only a laser engraving of a scarab on the clip and minimal information on the blade itself. Having just seen yours, however, my mind is now at ease! Thank you for posting your video!!

I mean, I already have a respectable otf collection (a Combat Troodon Hellhound, a full size Ultratech, 2 Guardian Tactical Recon-040's, a Kershaw Livewire, and now, at long last, a Scarab! I think it's quite possibly the easiest firing otf I've ever held! Considering 3 other otf's in my collection are impressively easy to fire, that's saying something! But above all of that, I can confidently say that it has the least amount of blade play than any of my other otf's! It may not be a G&G Hawk Deadlock, but it's close enough for me!!!

Thumb studs are good for reverse flick, and with some power from your wrist you can do a normal flick
