I know that there are various thoughts about the exact nature of the afterlife, and that one person's quick summary will not be able to encompass all that either Catholic or Protestant teachings hold in their fervency and variety; but I appreciated what I saw in this video as I plan for children this Sunday. The image of the candle and conversation in families is a very healthy thing to do.

Are you Catholic? You may want to know that some of the content in this video is against Church teaching. 1. Not all deceased go to Heaven. We must strive towards Heaven, but to put in children's mind that everyone goes to Heaven is to spark a lie in which they no longer strive towards holiness, because they don't distinguish Heaven as a place for holiness. 2. Resurrection. This has not happened yet for any human except Jesus Christ. Resurrection means our bodies come back to life. Only our souls go to Heaven. When Jesus comes again, He will resurrect the saints' bodies. This is why many saints in the church are uncorruptibles. There bodies are in tact for hundreds of years because they were holy and will one day be brought to life. 3. Pets are not in Heaven. Animals have spirits, not souls. This means that when they die, they are completely dead. They do not come back to life. If there are animals in Heaven, they are new animals with different spirits. I watched your video because I am a catechist looking to teach my kids about All Saints Day. I think it is extremely important that Catholics believe in the Church teachings, know the Church's teachings, and make sure that everything we teach children is true. God bless!
