Great video Kyle. I just received my CW Hotline and Vband dongle 2 days ago. I had a problem getting my CW Hotline working and sent a question on the Discord group. David replied and when it got to the point that we really needed to talk, David sent me a Zoom link and spent 30 minutes with me troubleshooting the problem. This kind of CS is unheard of. I would highly recommend both of these products to anyone doing or wanting to learn CW.

The practice element is so helpful. I rotate between multiple devices and approaches. I had not used my FTM-100DR to send an APRS message for about 8 weeks. I struggled doing it from memory, ran in to a new issue (messages were full and it wouldn’t let me send any, and some issues with the radio switching to DN mode). This was a frustrating practice but it was a relief afterwards that I was working again and knew my equipment even better. I made a cheat sheet I can tack up in the shack.

For me, a new cw operator this conversation was very helpful.

I picked one up, seems better than the old footswitch. Not quite as heavy so I hope it doesn't dance around on the floor too much while I'm busy at the radio. Let you know how I did after a year's contesting, but thanks for a fantastic tip.

Kyle, I've just found this video and have one question. I noticed ferrite snap on beads on multiple cables from mics to control cables and coax. Do you add ferrites to every cable as a matter of practice or were you chasing noise or other RFI? Just curious about when and where to apply ferrites. Thanks

Wonderful stories. I have always wondered if any POTA operators carry a gun. I am near Atlanta and safety is a priority. I mostly do CW from my office on a balcony on the 10th floor. Diving to work at 1AM, well, you see everything. Any parks here, mostly not POTA parks but safety would be a major concern. Just curious, I hope no POTA operators have ever been harmed. 73 Bill KG4FXG.
